nice write up! i too would suggest using a steel braided line and remotely attaching the oil pressure sending unit.
we did that, for years, on our hondas. the bulk of brass on the back of the block would vibrate, move, etc... not good. we found it better to run the line to the firewall and mount the sending unit there. just be sure to leave enough SB line to allow for the movement of the engine, etc.

you should have no problems after that.

I just got my evo and the oil pressure gauge is all messed up. It lights up but I dont think there is a oil sender attached. If I buy the install kit from napa which has the nylon tubing will I be good?

Can someone confirm the threads on the plugs?

The 42 draft designs page says the plugs are 3/8" BSPT (thus a 3/8 BSPT to 1/8 NPT reducer), if so then you probably wont find this type of reducer at the hardware store.

Though as someone stated before you could probably toss some teflon on there and cross thread it

Searching around for specifics:
British Standard Pipe aka Whitworth Tapered Thread Connectors (BSPT), seems to just be BSP(T/P) tapered or parallel.

vs

National Pipe Thread (NPT) aka IP (Iron Pipe)

The BSPT connector is similar to, but not interchangeable with, the NPTF connector. The thread pitch is different in most cases, and the thread angle is 55° instead of the 60° angle found on NPTF threads.

I would also recommend the Remote line for installation.

I have the 42draftdesigns plug installed with a defi sensor, but after a little less than a year or so of daily driving, the wires coming out of the sensor housing broke off largely due to the vibrations and most likely the weather.

I just hooked mine up. It seems to be working but i have a question. What do you guys see for oil pressure? Mine seems fine at idle but when it gets up in rpm the pressure peaks up at 100psi. It seemed high to me but what do you guys see?

Thanks Derek

I can't get the 8mm hex loose! Gotta get a breaker bar asap as I've started to strip the hex!

Any other ideas? Breaker bar should work?

Got a breaker bar hopefully that'll help! Any other ideas? I guess I'll get the car running too before to get some heat to it?

^try not to leave it open in a long time.

loosen the hex with an 8mm allen key with a help of a metal tube for leverage. then just before you take it off, have the reducer/fitting ready on your other hand to quicky switch them up. you will loose a few drops (few table spoon maybe).

as for the adapter. i need info on it. threads, size? i am installing a sensor for a digital aem oil pressure... i am using the plug on top of the oil filter. i think its 1/2'.

thanks!
