How to connect stock fuel level sensor to AIM MXL Strada dash

I installed my MXL Strada on an evo 8 with Vipec ECU. Everything works fine, the data is received by the dash thru RS232 and I managed to configure the dash the way I wanted. I just need some help connecting the stock fuel level sensor to the analog input of the dash. Did anyone attempt to do this on an evo 8? I would really appreciate some help. I connected the pin 51 from plug C-02 that normally connects to the stock gauge unit, which is the pin with signal from the stock fuel level sensor to Analog channel 1 input on the MXL but that does not work.
