Installing a push START button on the EVO

I put an S2k start button in my Corrado cos the ignition tumbler was crapping out (well known problem in VWs of that era). Make sure you use a relay (if the Evo ignition switch doesn't already) to operate the starter - the S2k button probably won't hold up otherwise. It's a pretty lightweight item.
To do it properly, you need some way of locking out the button when the engine is running, and also when the key is not in accessories position. Assuming, of course, that the Evo's ignition isn't controlled by some kind of computer that deals with all that. I dunno. I need a shop manual.
I will say, though, that it's really cool to see the button light up at night, and even cooler to start the engine by pushing a little red button. I doubt I'll do it in the Evo though.
