I know the IX has another sensor, but i wasnt sure if there was a way to rig it to fit or if there was a plug to purchase so the valve cover would fit on an VIII.

I tried searching too, but i didnt find anything except they wouldnt fit.

what are your reasons for changing the valve cover to an ix valve cover? there are many vendors' covers you can get for better looks and so on. I'll try to help you out the best I can.

 

I had a IX valve cover lying around and i powder coated it for the heck of it, but i was wondering if there was a way to put it on my VIII

Yeah, but the IX has a another spot for a sensor, i think for intake, on the cam when the VIII only has one sensor..
Long story short, i would have a hole in the side of my valve cover

 

Put a fake sensor in it? haha
