How to: Better way to orange interior lights
How to: Better way to orange interior lights
Well I checked out and performed all of the how to's for changing the interior lights (hvac, fog light switch, ic sprayer switch, dimmer switch, headlight leveler switch) Well while painting the bulbs works.. it only last for a few months and then the paint burns away and it was a trick and a half to get the color even on the HVAC (blue and orange ) So I found a much better method.
Instead of painting the bulbs you paint the back side of the transparent path where the light emmits. I will post up some pics and a more detailed how to later on, as I'm at work right now but wanted to get a start on this.

If you go to like Wal-Mart of really any all purpose store that sells those transparent folders you can use that. I used that to turn my Evo 3's interior lights blue and they last forever and its cheap. I would say that one folder cost about $1.50 and can do all the interior. They have all kinds of colors.

why did you bump this? LOL. I painted my bulbs today (just for now) and they came out freakin nice! I wish it would stay like that, but I did have experience with painting these bulbs before and they will eventually melt off ): but if I don't get the leds, I can always repaint them, doesnt take a lot of time
My lights were painted back in 2007 and I have no issues with paint peeling or anything. Painting is easy, cheap, and durable. I don't see any reason to go LED's for the interior lighting.
