I'm always torn between starting a new thread, or resurrecting an old thread. I'll try the latter here.

What happens when the sunroof doens't close all the way anymore? Apparently I failed miserably at programming it, because it thinks that 3 inches short of actually being closed is closed. I can't get it to close more unless I press Tilt. It does open all the way though.... How do I get it back into Initialization mode?

So I don't have the "inch at a time" closing issue anymore. It opens fine, but when closing, it will stop ¾ the way closed and open back up about ¼ the way open. The second time I try it usually closes, but it's still not working normal. I'm not fully understanding the "press close button until in full tilt up position". To get it into Tilt Up position, u have to press the button in aka the tilt button. But I never hear a click from the ECU when I press the closed button in for 3 sec.

does anyone have the dyi to test the sunroof? not re-initiation. I dont believe my sunroof works.

 

Any idea how to force it into initialization mode? My sunroof just needs adjustment on it's open/closed locations.

 

The sunroof can become confused when there is no problem with motor or glass. So, try this technique before disassembly.

 

Does the sunroof normally shut fully on its own when you press the close switch once or do you have to hold it to fully close it? Mine opens all the way when I press the open switch once but will only slide an inch or so when I press the close switch once. I had to remove the headliner recently to tighten the screws holding the motor in and since then the sunroof works well. I'm just not sure if it needs initialization.

 

This works... Took me a long time to figure out on my own...
