The Yaris coils are too short for a simple 2D flat plate. The rubber boots engage and they feel seated at that level, but pull the boot and let it compress the spring a bit and it becomes apparent they are too short. They are only 1mm or so short though, so I assume people using these are simply stretching the spring a little to ensure contact with the plug.

I'm good with it though as I got a great deal on some new Denso's and the lower height means they will easily hide under the stock cover.

I'm having the same problem but I'm using 2008 civic coils. Any tips on this? I will post pics later on today of my aluminum plate and plugs.

Subscribed.. I am going to take a stock plug boot to the parts yard next week and find some 3 wire coils that are the same length. I want to make a set with some used coils on the cheap here in the next week or two because my car is going in the shop for a tune. I want to tune the car with my new mods and stock plug boots. I will then swap the plug boots for the DIY COP setup and see if there are gains and if changes to the tune need to be made. If I see concrete gains on the dyno, I will make a nicer COP setup with new parts. If this is bogus, I am not out a ton of money. Give me three weeks or so...

This part on Yaris coils is no removable. I just put them under OEM cover.

I'd watch out if your buying Yaris coils. There are numerous sources out there claiming to be OEM Densos but they aren't.

Somebody want to risk the $80 for a set of 4 and see if the knock offs work as well???

There is some ******* on Amazon selling knock offs as Densos. Becareful not to pay full price for a knock off because they are sneaky little bastards.

OK, so I have had a few minutes to do some research on this. According to Spoolin Up's website, they state that they use Denso Part Number P/N 90919-02240 which a quick google search reveals is from a 2007 Toyota Rav-4, among other vehicles. The Denso part number is 673-1307.. With all this information a quick search on the Advance Auto Parts website reveals this....

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...RPTUNEAMS_____

Don't know if the link is going to work but the down and dirty is that the coils that SpoolinUp uses retail for 109.99... SO after purchasing four coils, you have paid out the equivalent of the SpoolinUp COP system, but you still need pigtails, wires, shrink tubing, and a plate to mount everything to.

Seems more like a whole lot of work and more money to achieve the same results. I am not saying that its pointless, if you use used coils, and different materials such as wire and mounting solutions. Honestly it doesn't seem cost efficient to me after some research..
