How to make cheap coil on plug setup
Awesome. Can someone complie a list of known vehicles with coils that will Work (factory individual coils that fit and have the correct dwell time). Maybe put these in the OP? Just throwing it out there.
Haha that took me the longest to do too...Here's a tip,get some clear plastic and cut out the basic shape with some scissors. Then lay it on the vc and take a Sharpie and draw where the sparkplug holes are and where you want the bolts.hope this helps you.
Damn I just received my scion tc coils and it turns out they are too short. I am bummed after I bought these because I was having trouble finding pigtails for rsx coils. Back to the drawing board.
it's put together, just waiting on harness connectors
a previous post mentions something about stretching the springs, which is what I did on mine due to the thickness of the mounting plate. try stretching them and see if that works for you
From spoolinup.com (http://www.szabaga.com/store/diycop.html)
So I looked up the part numbers and found the following alternate part numbers as well: 9008019023 & 9008019021. These parts are found in the following vehicles:
Denso# 9091902240, 9008019021
Fit under the spark plug cover:
2000-2005 Toyota Echo
2001-2008 Toyota Prius
2006-2008 Toyota Yaris
2004-2006 Scion xA
2004-2006 Scion xB
Denso# 9091902244, 9008019023
Don't fit under the spark plug cover:
2005-2010 Scion tC
2001-2006 Toyota RAV4
2007 Toyota RAV4 2.4 L4
2008 Toyota RAV4
2001-2007 Toyota Highlander 2.4 L4
2002-2003 Toyota Solara 2.4 L4
2006 Toyota Solara 2.4 L4
2007-2009 Toyota Camry 2.4 L4 2AZFE
2007-2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid 2.4 L4 2AZFXE
2010 Toyota Camry Hybrid 2.4 L4
2009-2010 Toyota Corolla XRS 2.4 L4
2009-2010 Toyota Matrix 2.4 L4
So I called my local U Pull It Yard and the only car they had was one 2002 Solara, and it still had all 4 plugs. Cost me $70 and I took the pigtails with them. Now I just need to order the injector connectors and some nice wires!

I thought about doing this for awhile. Then I realized that I really don't enjoy wiring. I especially don't like trying to track down problems after I short something out. I decided to get a new Spoolin Up COP set up. I'm sooo glad I did!
Bless you guys for doing this mod yourself. More power to you!

Looks like the same length as the Yaris coil to me?
The Yaris coil is 3.75" from the spring tip to the base of the coil where the seal goes.
You remove the doughnut seal and stretch the spring A LITTLE.

Dangle, I got the same ones you do. I got a 1/8" aluminum plate, removed the seal to add a little clearance and stretched the spring a little. It's now up and running, not a single hiccup.
Works perfect, and looks great!
Pictures to come soon.

I finished up my custom COP kit this weekend. Making that plate was far and away the most time consuming process, ~ 5 hours, but I'm somewhat of a perfection. I also had to stretch the springs a little, but I also wanted to keep the rubber grommets/spacers. Here was my cost breakdown:
Solara Coils: $69.40
From Spoolinup: Blank AL plate, DIY wire, DIY sleeving, 2 connectors + pins, shipping: $43.50
1" Hole Drill Bit with Pilot Bit: $16.34
---------------------------------------------
Total cost to enjoy the benefits of COP: $129.24
How the car feels and responds now: Priceless!

Since I had a little spare time, I attempted a little bit of a wire tuck along with the ignition setup.
Got measurements for the plate, worked on the wire tuck, polished plate, and...
Voila!! My final product! Crappy cell phone pics, but you can see the concept.
