The whole KEY saving features is inside the imobilizer box - NOT the ecu

As long as you have the proper year ecu and proper imobilier code it will work

if you need to add keys that is a dealer function with the imobilizer (seperate box)

30whp/30wtq is about right for a mail-in flash or e-flash. With boost control, you may get 40+. Shouldn't be any change in fuel consumption in closed loop operation (low throttle), since that is not changed by a flash.

I just ordered two maps from Al. One for a stock Evo IX (with MBC only), and one for when I install my BR TBE, UICP, etc. At only $50 a pop, it's worth spending a little extra to have a flash for right now, and to have one ready on-hand when I install my mods this or next weekend.

One thing I forgot to request was removal of DTC for rear O2 sensor detection of the lack of a cat. When I was reflashing LS-1s, it was pretty easy to make sure having no cats did not throw a DTC, but looking at what is available for editing via Ecuflash, I don't see anything to edit in regards to disabling the triggering of such DTCs. I guess openecu.org has not found that section of code yet, but does Al have the ability to get rid of that with his hex editor? It sure would be nice to not have to wire in another rear O2 simulator, or deal with those physical solutions such as ani-fould extenders, etc.

So here's the actual question.... Al, I'm not going to be running a cat. Will your flash eliminate the triggering of the "no cat" DTC?

Thanks for your business, I will try and get your maps out tomorrow evening

At the present time the parameter for the rear 02 sensor is not identified in iether my own hex flashing appllications or in ecu flash so I would suggest using a common spark plug anti-fouler on the rear 02 sensor which should do the trick

Also, just for refernce in 2006 OBD II you can not use a electronic MIL eliminator in line with your rear o2 sesnor signal as it will trigger a rear o2 sesnor cel

unlike previous years it looks for a varying signal

Thanks for such an informative reply Al. That would have sucked to wire that in, just to find it no longer works!

I got my map at midnight. Thanks for putting the hard work in to get these out to us. Mine was for HKS 272 cams and fuel pump added to my setup. I like what you've done with my car.

Still waiting for my map.

Sent my payment in last friday. Sent 3 emails with my mod list and my stock 05 rom.

How long have you guys had to wait for it? Don't want to be a pain in the a$$, but I'm getting some work done tomorrow and would like to feel the effects of the flash...

:-(

This may be a shotgun blast of the obvious.

I understand the newest version of ECUflash has been produced specifically for those of you that have the EVO IX. I have the VIII and the previous software. Does this mean that I have to download the newest version as well?

If that is so, I went to the OpenECU website, and the newest version is only for Window's XP. Where can I find it for Windows 2000?

Thanks

Tactrix Cable Received...

DynoFlash]After a bit more testing I will offer a through the mail kit which will have a CD with the flashing softwear, a tuning map for pump gas and a tuning map for race gas customized to match the specified modifications of the end user along with a flashing cable if needed. Also included will be a 100% stock pump gas map and a valet mode map. I will also include a detailed step by step instruction sheet to guide users on how to install the softwear and load the various maps.

I ordered my Tactrix Cable this morning and they said it'll take 3-5 business days. I, just like many of you, am anxious to get my E-flash.

By the looks of this through the mail kit, that seems to be a great idea. It sounds to me like a "rookie" version of the more expensive EMS that are on the market but at only a fraction of the cost. Right?

I, personally, have never considered purchasing a standalone EMS first off because of the price of the software and secondly because I didn't want to damage my engine. But with this new ECUflash software, it's pretty user-friendly and if Big Al is going to create a package like this, IMHO, I think it'll be a thing of beauty.
I ordered my Tactrix cable yesterday (30 June) at about 0500. I received my cable in the mail today (1 July) at about 1200. I must say, that Mr. Colby Boles sure does know how to make a man smile. I'll be sending my stock ROM and Paypal payment of $49.99 this evening.

Almost there!
