This is out of hand. I either want the map by lunch or a refund. I've been more than patient.

The thing that sucks is he'll give you a refund. But we will still be stuck with untuned cars. I know mine at least is in desperate need. Intake and Walbro with no tune. Hopefully well have them this morning.

I understand, but I've been officially waiting since the 15th. Though I made mistakes in ordering and I blame myself for the lag up to that point I eventually got it right. We've been told 2 times it's on the way, both times I expected it. I was told he already had a similar map to mine with just a few differences. I figured that meant I'd be able to get mine fairly quickly. I have to have this done tonight or I'm stuck winging it myself or sticking with the SAFC, neither of which is going to do me much good. I realize he's busy and backed up, but it's not fair to tell people to expect it multiple times and not produce it or at least a quick courtesy email.

Geez guys, give him a break. Sometimes you set deadlines you don't meet, sometimes you give you bite off more then you can chew, sometimes you run into other issues, sometimes you feel pressured by 100 evom members asking where their map is everyday on an internet forum for all your customers to see, and sometimes a $50 order does not fall high on your list of priorities (like sleeping and eating). For those waiting a month I agree with griping with Al. Maybe not in 15 posts, but I agree with you none the less. Al should put you on top of his list because you can't use your evo for what it was made for. For those waiting a week or two, settle down. You are getting something that previously took this long anyways, except you couldn't drive your car while waiting. I have waited that long for more expensive mods I bought from other members here (which is much riskier) without sending one PM or posting such and such has not sent me my part and don't buy from him. Quit bashing him before he no longer offers this service at all.

Al,
Let us know when you can do that package and for how much. Thanks.

^ #1 dude I never bashed him at all
#2 In my job I cant set deadlines that I cant meet. If I determine that an account needs somthing whether it cost $20,000 or $2. It has to be there in that amount of time. Its the nature of the buissness
#3 I am a service engineer people call me all day long and I must solve each and every problem (or at least keep them in the loop until its fixed). Even If I get overwhelmed communication is key. Like I said earlier I dont know if he even has made my map, got my money, or my e-mail

I agree with you that he is a busy man and I give him much respect for the work he does I just dont understand why he would say the maps are done and are going out tonight than never deliver. If I would do that in my profession Id be going out.

I understand its only 50.00 which is nothing but a service is a service. Im not mad at him I just think he needs to hire some well trained help.

So I think you should get off his *** kissing list and MYOB.

I just got done putting the cams in, now just waiting on the flash. Not nagging, my evo is not a daily driver, but I am very excited to get the flash in there and go run it a bit more.

I am by no means a highly experienced businessman, but I have learned a few things over the years of making a living servicing customers. The major thing being- Under promise, over deliver- meaning, don't say one hour turn around for a service, say a week, and then get it to the customer in an hour, making them happy as hell. Granted he is very busy, but working on HIS race car... Maybe I don't know all the facts here, maybe his race car is his number one source of income... But if I told my customers that I can't get to them because I am working on MY car and not theirs, I would be willing to bet that my customer base would eventually deminish equaling no money for me.

Just plain and simple rules of good business here. Paying customers are getting upset, something must be done to correct this situation before there are no more customers.

My post had nothing to do with you. You have been curteous. So my post was as much your business as these others are mine. I have never bought anything from Al or met him. I have never kissed anyones *** but my bosses so I don't know why I would start with some random person I have never met over the internet. I don't know what your business is but i work for a fortune 20 company and people miss deadlines all the time here and in our industry. So do our customers. Yet we manage to make 30 billion/year. We prioritize and a $50 deadline is not as important as a million deadline. A service is not a service, I expect different service from my surgeon then I do from Al. If my surgeon misses a deadline we have a problem. To a fiscally responsible individual, $2 is never as important as thousands unless you need to differentiate yourself from the market with service. Which Al does not. In your job communication might be key, but in Als it is not. He has gotten by like this for years so a few people complaing about their $50 product is not going to set his world on fire. It is counter productive to be answering dozens of questions about you not making the deadline or where you are at when get close to it? Threats and a bad additude do not motivate people to help you. So stop leading the angry mob, and please do not tell me what you think, you have made it abundently clear in your last 10 posts on this thread.

Isn't what Al does a 100% service business? I consider him flying all over the country and flashing people's ecu's a service.

Also, E-flash is new so he has not done it this way "for years". He put you on a schedule and showed up in your town. Maybe because E-flash has gotten popular too fast and he can't handle the massive business spike. If that is the case then your marketing campaign for it should not be that you will receive your flash in 48 hours and not deliver with no communication.

I love Al's work and would like him to update my flash, but I'm not sending any money until he responds to at least one of my PM's from 2 days ago.

You are incorrect. See Boeing, Harley Davidson and, Ferrari to name a few. They do not always meet deadlines or provide a product many months after payment. There has been no loss in long term sales. If you make a product that no one else offers you do not have to be perfect in every aspect of business, especially service (see IBM, Microsoft). And this delay was not for everyone of his customers nor for everyone of his products. Plus you guys are going to give him the same money anyways. So this delay may have cost him a few customers @$50/pop. Not breaking the bank.
