Each "flash" comes with several maps, fuel, timing, boost, etc.

Just to clarify . . . .

The $49.99 E FLASH! is ONE map 0- you select your mods - octane and other details

Those who get a custom tuned reflash get multiple maps (if they want them) which include - valet map, stock map, pump gas 20 psi map and race gas high boost map

It really depends on the particular application and inector used

The scaling function of the Ecu Flash can be cofusing as the numbers given are just arbitrary conversions of the actual hexidecimal numbers

I don't have an EVO yet, but i'm a long time subaru performance enthusiast as well as hondas and dsms back in the day, I agree when the individual has the PROPER equipment (wideband/egt/datalogging software/means to edit the map) and an understanding of what to change to make it applicable to his/her car based off the data collected from above, something like this will work

but, the reality is, most people just want to pay a small fee for a free tune, flash it and go run 11s.... doesn't work that way

It seems to me if things aren't right, you should be collecting data and having these conversations directly w/ Al, not crapping up the forum saying he sucks.

This is what you would conclude comming from a general performance background

However, in the case of my base calibrations in 90% of cases they are very close to ideal as I set them up - the reason being is that I have tuned a huge volume of cars and the modifications are usually done in patterns

Most if not all of the people getting these maps will have no problem to just install the map and the car will drive dramatically better tahn with the stock mapping

Those who are doing do it yourself tuning will have a much easier time by using the maps provided

Al,

I had a custom tune from you a year ago and would like the update E-flash for the mods I have since added. I would also like the extra maps you mentioned a few posts back about vallet, race gas, etc if they are at no charge. I never got multiple maps originally.

I already sent my payment and mod list (93) octane on Friday last week and haven't heard back. Please advise.

Thanks, Mike Laak

Yes, there was oil, but he already knew that.

What kind of injector scaling is everyone else running with anything larger than stock inj? Also, the car bogs at 2500 rpms. Ive never see a car do that unless it was getting demolished with too much fuel in the motor.

Anyone else have any ideas...cause i am deffinetaly out.

My suggestion is to NOT use the map I sent you

The map i sent you has working in several hundred similarly modified evos with same injectors

If it is running overyly rich in your car it is bizzare as the stock map will idle fine with the 680 injectors you have and your map is slightly leaner than stock

A few points that may result in this condition :

1 - You did not zero your SAFC

2 - Electrical problem or faile SAFC

3- Gross boost leak

4 - Injector leaking

5 - Other mechaincal issue which I can not diagnose without hands on car

Best of luck with your problem

Al

I'd like to get a tune and the tactrix cable.
I can get the tactrix cable and software for installing the flash directly from you, correct?
Will the software work on an evo ix?

*sorry if this has already been answered in the thread

That sounds great Big Al, sir. But I've read through the 350 or so posts without running into the quoted price of purchasing the cable and E-flash as a combo.

Al, do you recieve the instruction book included in the 49.99 Eflash!, or is it extra? also, what's your expected release date for the manual? i may wait to order my map until it's available unless i can get it seperate later on.

I am confused now. I thought that the E-Flash was the same as the mail in Dynoflash with the exception that we no longer had to mail our ECU's to Al. I thought the savings in price was overnight shipping/insurance and labor for time spent in comparison to just matching mods to existing tunes he has performed and emailing them to us.

Now I am not so sure as to what he means by ONE map. What do you mean we select our mods, octane, etc...

I thought with the paid $49.99, we supply you with all our mods, octane, and desired boost and you would email all necessary maps required to obtain the same result as the mail in?

What is what?

Please explain and forgive me if I am missing the obvious.

Thanks,
