The older guys always sound like a broken record "blah blah blahblah ur gonna dieee mann" but it is true on so many levels. Ive had the car for about a year now and im still learning how to control my urges. I know im going to get snickered at and chastised for having one at such a young age, but hey with the car comes the territory. Have fun (on the track) and stay safe.
ps i have slammed the brakes at 40~ on a turn and the *** end does come out. Dont FLOOR the brakes man, even with ABS they will lock up a little.
good luck i hope you get that car fixed, its too pretty to sit around. And even though you feel these guys are making fun of you just know they are 100% right for the most part.

I'm 18 turning 19 soon, and i pretty much agree with the above post 100 percent. I've never gotten into an accident with my evo, but i did flip my eclipse over a yr ago. These older people have more expericance than you or me, because most of my frds have gotten into accidents, and most of them are 17-21. I do occasionally drive the car aggressively, but I always slow down when there is rain, especially in LA where when rain comes lots of people still drive 80 on the freeways. Anyways, just glad you are okay, and have fun with the evo when it rises from the grave. Peace
OK, assuming we believe his story and the conditions he state are true; (deer, wet leaves, rain), common sense and experience would tell you to slow down. I'm sure he would know that there are deer in his area. As for rain and wet leaves, if he didn't know how slippery that can make the roads, he does now. Seems like he had neither common sense nor experience that night. Which brings us back to what we've been saying about the lack of experience inherent in teens. Live and learn.
The old deer in the road story. 45 in 4th? Well that just prooves to me that you weren't trying to drive beyond your abilities because it suggests you were just lumbering along in 4th gear when this deer came from nowhere..
Don't bullshi$ the bullshi$$ers.

wow i got my evo wene i just turned 19 or was i 18 whatever i dont remeber all i know is im 20 now and have had the car with no accidents, also i think mentality and skill play a big part age is a number and yes the older you are could mean you have more knowledge, but thats not always true in some cases. and btw im pushing 400+ whp(91 **** water, with road tuning only) with a gt35r kit go figure

until the back end started to slide out to the left, i panicked, pressed the brakes even harder hoping the car would stop and crashed into the bushes... ofcourse i was shocked
i plan to go to an empty parking lot every sunday and learn to control the car for my own sake

i was going around a bend in the woods and there was dirt and pebbles on the road and the back just stepped out.. i just slightly let of the gas and countered and just went on my mery way...the evo is prolly one of the easiest cars to control sideway so i dunno why u had a problem...
and taking it to a parking lot isn't going to do much beside wear down your tires... after i broke my car in i tryed having some fun in a parking lot and the car just grips... even in the rain...
