MY Wicked White EVO MR!!! PICS!
^ insurance will and ur primium wont go up a dime! deer are great.
im young so i better add my 2 cents.. i totalled my first evo, someone cut me off and i swerved and spun into a curb and flipped onto someones yard (wheel caught on some junk on their yard i guess), got an ambulance ride out of it, and a nice 1400 dollar bill, good thing for health insurance. i admit my n00bism didn't help the situation, and im sure i could have gotten out of the spin now that i know tons more.
i was evoless for over 6 months, but right after i got my 2nd car i started taking it to the track, and am in hpde3 now moving up the ranks. so take your car to the track, everyone has raced b4 on the street when they were young (look at all these people saying they would have killed themselves in an evo at 19...everyone was imature then), but you don't have to be, too bad the track season is almost over or you might get a chance to run in the rain which is probably the greatest learning experience you could have.
be safe, but you're not going to make any friends lying about your story either, cuz we all know what an evo will do at 45 since we all have one. be careful tho, even when you get your car back the brakes wont be fully broken in, thats the hardest part imo, engine is whatever, but its a pain having to brake earlier than normal to prevent running a stop sign cuz they dont bite yet.

glad you're ok... but i think it's time to re-examine your driving skills and age... the evo is not a car for everyone, it needs to be respected and needs more skill/attention to drive... but it is strange though how the rear came around like that... did you gas it hard instead of brake??? or did you yank the wheel too quick too???
the mag reviews are misleading though... "the evo makes you like Michael in his F1 ferrari"... yes, the evo can make you fast, but can make you roadkill even faster....

Hey man drive safe! im 17 (yaya flame me) and i drive a Stage 1 evolution. The temptation of flooring the car everywhere is damn tough when you are this age. But damn man you gotta control that and save it for the track. I admit i drive like a dumbass sometimes and i know im getting better but i shoulda listened to the older guys.
The older guys always sound like a broken record "blah blah blahblah ur gonna dieee mann" but it is true on so many levels. Ive had the car for about a year now and im still learning how to control my urges. I know im going to get snickered at and chastised for having one at such a young age, but hey with the car comes the territory. Have fun (on the track) and stay safe.
ps i have slammed the brakes at 40~ on a turn and the *** end does come out. Dont FLOOR the brakes man, even with ABS they will lock up a little.
good luck i hope you get that car fixed, its too pretty to sit around. And even though you feel these guys are making fun of you just know they are 100% right for the most part.

And I am not talking about all young adults just most, so don't take it personal, believe me you will agree when you get older.
I'm 27 and everything Spanked said is the truth. You'll hit a point in your adulthood when you have to slam on the brakes of life and stop back and take a look at the big picture. So enjoy yourself while you are young but always think before you do something above the law.

No one should blame the EVO because 45 miles on the rain will not put you all this deep far in the bushes. you were going fast as i can see you went way far in. Good luck and drive safe and stop acting like a kid.
I'd like to see you hit the brakes aggressively mid turn, on wet pavement, with leaves on it, and NOT see you spin out. If your car can somehow defy physics, I want to buy some of that.
It is the Fall season, and that means lots of leaves on the ground in certain parts of the country. Be CAREFUL out there.

what a bad luck he had!!!! so he had RAIN. LEAVES and DEER holy cow what about some angels??? but he is NOT 19 and speeding hu???? listen to yrself first before you start typing.
My brother in law had his license for 1 year and so far he got into 5 accidents. Every time he comes back saying its not his fault. even when someone hit him from behind it was his fault because he cut front of the guy and pushed hard brakes. So far his mother paid over 10K on a green olde 91 hatch civic for repairs. GIVE ME A BREAK.
Hi,
Old Guy here (37). Umm, nice car. Too bad about the wreck. I'm sorry to hear about your father. You've had alot to put inthe life experience "file cabinet" lately, eh?.
The formula breaks down like this: too much speed + sharp corner + wet roads + cold, wet tires (especially Advans!) + [insert road hazard here] = wrecked car.
My version of the above occured when I was 21. I was driving my 2 year old VW (it was a semi-hot hatch back in the day). I had a buddy of mine riding shotgun. We decided to go out for some food one night. The weather was crappy with freezing rain. We came around a corner and hit a patch of black ice. Unfortunately as I was beginning to spin there was another car coming at us sideways in my lane. To this day I have no idea why that woman was in my lane when she had the outside of the corner. There wasn't much I could have done except have been going much slower. We hit her broadside. Fortunately, since speeds were low due to the crappy conditions, no one was hurt.
While I'm not age biased, I'm sure there are just as many talented 19 year olds as there are 40 year olds, there is no substitute for "life experience" or "seat time". It can't be discounted. You have to rack up the miles to see stuff happen in order to learn how to deal with situations. I have never had another accident since that night, let alone one involving slippery conditions. Chalk it up to experience. As you get older you start to see certain situations play out time and time again and you learn to anticipate bad crap happening and avoid it. Of course if you're a complete dumbass (I have no idea if you are), you might never learn.
Good luck and enjoy the car when you get it back. And like others have said, enroll in a high performance driving class. Become a "driver" versus just another "motor vehicle operator".

I'm just pointing out the most likely conditions as to how this happened.
1. He lives in upstate NY. There's lots of trees in NY. It's the fall season. Therefore, any SANE person would have to assume that there's leaves on the ground. Especially at a time when not many people are driving. (middle of the night)
2. It was raining.
3. He braked in the middle of a turn.
I could get my stock suspension Evo to rotate its rear around turns just by lifting the throttle, IN THE DRY. If you haven't been able to do that, perhaps you aren't driving fast enough?
There is NO doubt he was driving above HIS limits. That wasn't the reason I posted. The reason I posted was because of this:
The EVO is the best handling car ever( I have driven) I have over 370 WHP and until this moment I could not take my car out of control even in rain. to drive your EVO out of control you were either playing playing or playing.
I'm travelling 50mph down the interstate in a heavy downpour, the car hydroplanes and I end up in the median after doing several 360's, all because I was playing.
In the real world, $hit happens, would you not agree? Perhaps it is YOU who should read what you're about to post before you hit that "submit reply", because your post makes you sound idiotic. Please stop the 'just because I've never had that happen to me proves that your scenario isn't possible' crap.

yea if a deer would cause you to crash, make the deer pay for it
