if you want to say something hateful some more... i have no problem with that... cause i can just forget about your stupid whining remarks and enjoy my ride
And some of Y'all are supposed to be older and more mature!!! Judging from this kids response he's got the maturity thing down! Nice car man!! , and condolences on that.

im enjoying the mr so far! this car had 5 miles on it before i bought it... i already put in 200 miles i just cant stop driving and cruising around the city getting all the attention! its a great feeling i have never experienced before

also... im so used to my prelude's loud muffler, and i thought i expected the evo to be loud (according to the stock evo exhaust sound clip) but it is really quiet... and i cant hear the turbo that well, im dying to know how the turbo sounds (im deaf/hard of hearing, wears one hearing aid) is there anyway to make the car noise a noticeable sound but not too loud? (without voiding the warranty)
it's noticable once u give it the beef in mid-ranges. or you could always purchase aftermarket, oh... don't know about the warranty tho. if you're really concerned about the warranty, learn to maximize on its current capabilities before you begin to expand.

I thought you were mechanically inclined!!!! Add an intake, that will bring out the sound of the turbo, and motor a bit more!!

Um well technically anything you bolt on will void warranty haha, but don't get the intake. Stock is great.

Well I saw this a few days ago, then today on a local forum here in rochester I read this:
I heard a nasty rumour today while I was at carlisle Mitsubishi...

Apparently there was a white Lancer EVO 8 MR for sale at Cortese this last week which was bought by a younger individual. Supposedly the car was wrecked (perhaps totalled) with less than 90 miles on the clock.

I heard quite a bit more than this little bit of information that I am giving up... maybe others could shed some light on this.

I will see if I can get pics or any -factual- data tomorrow.
From what I heard... it was an NTID (RIT) student. Anyone have any theories? I sure as **** do.
i got a phone call from eric, the salesman, from cortese on w henrietta. he tells me "shawna... your car is gone...." (he knew i was in love with it ) ...then goes on to tell me a 18 (or 19) year old deaf kid crashed it with 80 miles on it. the front, sides and innercooler were wrecked. he said me must have been racing.

thats just so wrong in so many ways.
FYI this kid in your thread is from rochester, it was a white evo mr, and he also had his photos hosted at RIT

I do belive the predictions were correct, he totaled it with less than 90 miles on it..

I think this is connected too, right?

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/showthread.php?t=105859

You know, it kind of pisses me off when things like this happen. Many people worked their butts off, like I did for a year, to buy an EVO. Then someone (a kid) gets one handed to them and they go off thinking they are superman. I'm sorry, but I go by "if you worked for it, you respect it more". I think people who get these $30k "toys" handed to them do not respect them and think they can get another if they break it.

My Girlfriend went to school with the Local Weather guy’s son, and he drove a new Grand Cherokee. Later he decided he wanted a new car (I can’t remember which) but dad said no. Well a few weeks later the son purposely wrecks his jeep into a tree so that he could get the car he wanted. Guess what, dad went out and bought it for him too.

Not always, Event. I paid for my Evo each month, drove the **** out of it, and still managed to get into 2 accidents with it. It's all about how you handle the responsibility. The first time, I wasn't paying attention--- my fault. The second time, I was in a hurry/impatient at a bad interseciton, partially my fault. It's just luck of the draw. Sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you. Besides, he said his dad died of cancer. You could cut him a little slack. If my ol' man died suddenly, I'd use part of the inheritance to resotre his '65 Vette in his memory, a similar gesture. Is that wrong?

Well, I dunno if buying an EVO for Dads memory is such a good idea.

But yeah, I'm sorry that it happened. I guess we'll just have to hear the whole story before we can pass judgement.

Hardly "luck of the draw", more like irresponsible!
