If it was him, i am sorry for the loss and the accident. Hope he is ok. Before even reading the last page, just the pictures of the kid with the car, he looked so cocky. It really pissed me off. I have no problem with young kids in fast cars, but like someone state, when giving to them for nothing, they dont have a sense of responsibility or role with the car. I am glad that he was taugh a lesson, well, atlest i hope he learned from it.

edit*
and for all you younger guys who are getting offended. I think the whole moral of people saying to young for speed, is not that you can drive in a straight line, cause thast the easy part. Its what you do in traffic, weather conditions, etc. Alot of kid are naive and dont really use reasoning over instinct. The case was clear here.

I see one problem here. The kid said he alredy put 200 miles on the car. The car that was wrecked had less the 90 miles on it.

Due to the raw power and handling of the EVO many people become over confident and think they can do anything and beat everyone. Just goes to show you that this car should not be driven without much respect. The thing that really sucks is that all these younger racers in EVO's crashing will only contribute to higher insurance for everyone.

Well, don't jump to conclusions without knowing the whole story. I agree, at times, I was irresponsible with that car, but tell me honestly if anyone who owns an Evo HAS NOT BEEN at some point...

Years before the accident that ended my Evo's life, some friends and I encountered a near miss at the same intersection. We almost rolled an SUV trying to avoid someone who pulled out in front of us, wet pavement none the less. Many people I know have also gotten into accidents there, so in my opinion it is luck of the draw. However, in my case, the accident could have been avoided had I not been impatient. Of course, being as how I HATE STUPID, ELDERLY, SLOW DRIVERS, I'm sure it would happen over and over again would time repeat itself.

Hopefully I've learned from my mistakes and can be more responsible with the next car I choose to buy.

Thats a shame!!! I know if I had that car when I was 19, I would have killed myself, no doubt. Granted I have driven powerful cars, but under the supervision of Skip Barber!!! Those classes help you really understand a car and how to drive it.

A lot of jumping to conclusions here, does anyone know if this is the guy who wrecked? Not saying that it is not, we just do not know. One way or another it's sad that the poor MR met a very early demise. Such a beautiful car..........but that means there may be a MR six speed and turbo sitting in a wrecking yard somewhere......

None of this really suprises me. Everyone acts like they are suprised a kid wrecked a EVO. Kids and EVOs simply don't mix in real life. EVOs are a man's car.

I agree with ozrmrlancer if I would have had an MR (or any Evo) when I was 19 years old I would be dead (with multiple speeding tickets in my coffin). I'm not hating on anyone but he should have never been given this car. His Mom is at fault for not doing research before hand. Now there will only be 999 MR's out there!!! We are talking about a car that can keep up (or beat) most exotics and you are giving this to a guy who has been driving for three years. Young dudes are making a lot of money now days and that's cool but unless you have grown up driving performance cars you don't need to step into this. Go get an RSX or Miata or something. Plus, irresponsible young people are the reason there are some many wreaks, speed traps, etc.

I hope that he didn't wreck it!! That would really be sad. I would hope that he would be careful and take good care of a car that was bought in his father's memory who died of cancer. That car is very gorgeous, the white MR is my favorite color in the MR.

I would have to agree with you that the Evo is not a kid's car; however, I think that some "men" have judgement that is no better than most kids. Also, some 19-20 year olds have more judgement than others people of the same age... I mean there are always exceptions to the rule, but it looks like this kid was obviously one that shouldn't be driving an Evo.
