Alright for looks I give it lots of credit, but for jamming FM radio it sucks.

I have the Perrin mini-antenna. I am looking for a mini antenna that does not sacrficie radio performance. I mean seriously they make cell phones that have no antennas...I know it is a different RF but the same idea nonetheless.

I would even consider an inline booster or something.

I'm using the GM onstar antenna. It's not too bad, and is it only about 3 inches tall.

As one who enjoys listening to college radio, I've tried a S2000 antenna as well as the short, machined antenna sold by Street Concepts in hopes of getting better reception. Neither equaled the performance of the stock piece. BTW, I had to mod the S2000 antenna with a Dremel to have it sit flush with the mount. The SC antenna fit perfectly. Please post if you find an antenna that gets better reception than stock. I'd be interested in trying it.

s2000 here, same reception as stock.

i guess its all relative to how far you are away from the stations...

Yes, it's the distance from the transmitters, the station's power, and the antenna/tuner's ability to pick-up the signal that mostly determine the scope of reception. It starts to get more difficult when the gear has to discriminate between adjacent signals, especially when one is more powerful than the other, and/or has a better placed transmitter relative to one's location. I'm fairly happy with the stock antenna/tuner, as I can pick-up low-powered signals without interference, but it there are still spots where it's less than stellar.

I'm pretty sure the S2K and Element antennas are the same.

I had the S2K on my VW and it worked fine. But, I live like 3 miles from the station I usually listen to.
