I just got the Perrin Antenna and haven't noticed much of a change. Although, I have an HD radio so once I'm tuned into the HD signal the signal doesn't fade.

Haven't tested to see if I lose HD sooner when I hit the outskirts of town.

Lots of good info here...

I had a perrin shorty, it got stolen off my car while in a shop. Luckily the shop had an extra one laying around, looks like the Honda one (probably isn't, but it looks like it was oem from another car) reception was noticeably worse...so much so I re-ordered the Perrin and just installed it two days ago.

P.S. - I still have my "other" shorty antenna if anyone is looking for one cheap.

I just got one of the Agency Power gunmetal ones from GruppeS for my GG IX. Not an exact colour match, but pretty close. Definitely looks better than stock!

Reception is a little degraded, but still passable. This far out in the 909 (60 mi E of downtown LA), if I can pick up KROQ at all, its good enuf for me...

The comment about wearing all black clothes wasn't encouraging you to steal. No one on these forums would encourage you to ever do anything illegal. (Insert sarcasm here.) I'm sure Pure Playaer was merely implying that his Honda dealership offers great savings when you show up wearing black clothes.

As for the antennas... too many hills around here. Stock antenna sucks enough as is. If anyone has seen significant improvement with an antenna that is shorter than stock then I'm interested.

What grade loctite did you guys use? I'd figure the low strength 222 would be preferable over the mid (blue) or red (high) strength kind. If some little pisser really wants to steal the antenna, I'd rather he be able to get it without yanking off the VG or whatever...

BTW, maybe someone can come up with a kit that incorporates a big capacitor or something, so that just touching the antenna would give the thieving loser a nice big shock...

Haha. Yeah I agree you go to the Honda Dealership at night and "borrow" one. And test it out. If it doesnt sound good enough for you, then "return" it. Lolz.
