if your using the interior paint on your seats, what do you do to prep the seats before painting (in terms of cleaning)?

I just bought some carpet cleaner with that plastic scrubber on the head. Didn't seem to do much, so I just sprayed it down, rubbed it around a bit and let it dry.

I am going to try dyeing them first, if I ever get away from work.

looks much better than spray paint and your seats wont feel harder because of the dye/paint.

how much did it cost you and what kind of material did you use?

The black on black actually looks pretty good. But I wonder how close up pics would look.

So, bringing this back from the grave, I did my seats red. It looks ok but for some reason I dont like it and am going black. For anyone doing it a bright color, they have been done for a week and a half now and I am getting red **** on my pants lol. Not staining but its like chalking on the back of them. Just in case anyone wanted to try I bright color.

My advice would be to dye them, let it dry, clean them with the carpet shampooer at the car wash then dye again if need then clean them again. That way any excess gets cleaned off and doesn't end up on your pants. I haven't tried it yet, but seems more logical than leaving all the excess dye that doesn't get totally soaked up. I am probably gonna try that after I pick up my evo in a couple weeks.

Just buy different seats.

Spray painting your seats is retarded, way to ruin a 20k car. Where's the underglos and strobes ?
