Evo meets Evo...time for new bumpers!

Don't even ask how it happened, just suffice it to say that my car was parked and got backed into by another Evo. Happy, happy, joy, joy! It was a pretty low speed hit and the rear bumper was backed across, not into so there is no impact damage but nice gouges through the paint.

Since it will require a repaint at $350+ to get it right, I am thinking that it is time for a JDM rear bumper so I don't have to deal with the paint shop.

Can anyone comment on how well a TB JDM bumper will match the factory paint? Do they show up spot on or need to be repainted for a perfect match? The car is 2 months old so the paint is otherwise perfect.

If its the authentic jdm bumper the paint should be exact. Especially since your car hasn't had the chance to fade.

JDM rear is factory, so it's perfect...like that one guy said once "WOAH! who makes that rear bumper!?"

just make sure that all the metal pieces inside your bumper (not the crash beam), are intact.
When a lady rear ended me, I could actually reuse the bumper cover w/o painting it, cause all the damage buffed out, but I had about 2k worth of damage to the rear area- (spare wheel well etc.)

black Should Match Almost perfectly, any differences won't be visible. But a silver car on the other had is rather difficult to match, even if you get an oem JDM bumper it still may not match perfectly, because all the bumpers weren't painted with the say condtions and paint batch, so there will verry minute differences.

Thanks for the advice. It was at such a low speed with the one car at a 90* angle to the other that structural damage is unlikly but I will check it out when I pull it apart.

I was SOOOOOOOO lucky that the car wasn't hit forward another 4 or more inches as it would have damaged the fender for sure.

yeah for everyone to say theyll match perfectly is ridiculous
its a crap shoot if youll get a matching one
black should be close
ive bought 2 white ones one was spot on with the color the other was a little further off unless theyre painted at the same time there will be differences
