i thought about putting mine there but i ended up mounting it under the tach above the steering wheel

All i need is just a timer,I will have the boost gauge by next week so i didnt mind wherever to place it...

I also placed mine below the Tach. I started with it in the same place you show, then moved it. I eventually took out my other boost gauge as I only use the Blitz.. Easy to read in digital form and I love the peak hold feature and the alarm.

its not a bad spot but you should think about cuting a hole on the panel wher your shifter is and placing it flush right there i had it done in a past car looked great

When you wired your wire underneath that panel, does it pinch the wires at all?
