DSLR Photography for beginner - How to shoot like a Pro.
go Canon or NIKON...sony is nice but just not worth it...my shots were with a canon 1d mkIII and my 17-40 4L...http://danhonovich.blogspot.com/ has some more individual info on how the shots were done...
Im going to respectfully agree
Well from what i read , The Rebel Xsi is just better in a lot of ways then the D60 , Wich is in the same price range. Yes the d90 is better but it costs much more.
So it would make more sense to Go w/ the canon , And purchase another lense later on?
Would you mind giving me some details onto why the Xsi > a350.... Went into ritz camra and the lady was pushing the sony so hard... Probably because sony was backing them ( bigger commision for selling sony )

Because she is an idiot and fyi, sony lenses are more expensive than canons and their lens lineup sucks imo
Both Canon and Nikon are amazing.
I prefer Canon simply because I like their lens selection/lineup more, they have more lenses that fit my needs than Nikon does. Nikon is amazing, so is Canon. Sony does make Nikons sensors however, but their Cameras simply are sub-par compared to Nikon and Canon imo.
If it were me, Id find a used or refurbished Canon 40D for around $600, if thats too much for you can XSI will serve you well.

a 40D is simply MORE camera, MORE features, better features, better camera, etc.
Both are going to be user-friendly, the 40D imo is more user friendly because its controls are better and more spread out.
Here is a 40D kit refurbished
http://www.adorama.com/ICA40DKR.html...non+40D+refurb
Refurb is a good way to save $ and get more. Ive bought refurb before and its awesome. As you read from the reviews 99% of the people who bought refurb will say the same.
40D over XSI
More FPS
Better ISO
Better Controls
Bigger Camera
Bigger LCD
ETC
ETC
2 weeks ago I picked up a Sony a300 because I got a KILLER deal on it that I couldnt pass on. I honestly really like it. Ive heard mixed opinions on it. The camera came with the 18-70 lens and I purchased the 75-300 lens separately.
I know everyone has their personal opinion and what not but I am honestly really happy with the Sony. This past weekend was the first time I had a chance to mess with it snapping some pics at the Winged Warrior event. I havent even read the book yet. lol
I want to mess with some settings in it and what not before I post any pics. Im pretty new to the DSLR thing so its going to take some time.

Here are a few shots I took this past weekend at Winged Warrior of Project White and its first outing. Shot these on action auto. This was my first time out with the camera so winging it was in order. lol
These were all done with a 75-300 lens on the Sony a300.

The nail biter final drag race.

There is too much crap to figure out on this thing. I guess it all comes in time though. Any pointers would be VERY welcome.

Your SS wasn't too slow, you just had some hand shake most likely, I typically use a monopod and pretty slow (1/30 to 1/60 for autox) shutter speeds to get nice wheel blur and back round blur...I just put the camera in TV mode, select my SS, then AI servo mode and go from there...
those were my settings. i used a shutter speed around 160 or so maybe as low as 100. it was really windy. i wanted the wheel blur and the background blur but wind owned me without a pod.
