DSLR Photography for beginner - How to shoot like a Pro.
^ +1 on whats said in the above two post. Just keep practicing
I know I still need LOTS of it and a better camera. Love that last one tho the Angle, lighting, timing = a good shot in my opinion

Thanks for the comments guys! Yea I thought the prowler shots were too dark, plus its a black car( Doesn't help). I try to up the brightness while editing them and they just don't look right, looks like a foggy film over the pic. I need to get photoshop I suppose. I use the free GNU Image manipulation or GIMP or whatever its called now.
You guys have some great pics in here, at least to my eye. I just got my D60 back. I can't wait to re-learn it all. I had the camera for a short time before it slipped from my camera bag. Just got it fixed by nikon and so far general pics are looking awesome. I think even better than before.

Just bought a Nikon D3000 so I begin my adventure into the DSLR's.
Buddy said the cam was good but the lens was crap. Haha any suggestions or should the supplied lens be fine for a beginner for a while?
Thanks

My suggestion is 2 basic lens by nikon 18-55 & 55-200 I believe. The 1st would be your wide angle lens, and the 2nd your semi wide angle w/ increased zoom. Lens that have a speed of 1:3.2-5.6 are decent for that camera unless your on M ( mode ) using custom settings, these lenses maybe to slow in a motion shot ( ex shooting wedding party walking isle ) where time is limited to adjust settings.
If your beginning like me 18-55 & 55-200 will be just fine! If you can try to score a deal on the lenses that have VR on them. "Vibration Reduction" Helps a good deal. As a bonus invest in a flash diffuser that is pretty much a really nice universal tool for indoors & out. Especially when taking photos of ppl.
