Damn you really saved that car!! Looks ten times nicer then when you bought it. Sucks that the guy lied to you. I bought my car and the guy who owned it before me had these cheap carbon fiber piller stickers that looked so horrible. I ripped them off as soon as i got it!! lol

i have a ticking noise coming from the bottom end and cbrd told me its most likely the rod bearings, cause i toook it up there for a tune and alignment but he wouldnt touch it because he didnt want the rod going through the block while it was on his hands, i have good oil pressure but idk its getting torn apart here and if that doesnt work i guess ill drop on a new short block

chad said he thinks the guy was retarded and ran like 30lbs of boost without a proper tune.... why doesnt that surprise me that this guy would do that??

No no no, the OP is trying to DE-rice the car.

Looks great. It's a lot of work trying to fix a dumbass POs mistakes. I had the exact same experience with my Talon. It wasn't riced out, but he was no electrician, and the 3-pod a-pillar was held on by wood screws.

If you want You can bring it out to my place and we can take a look around with the bore scope. I just had a rod bearing go so I quite familar with what it sounds like. I personally think Chad is wrong on this one. I am friends with the guy you were thinking about getting the engine off of.

well for a little update i was sposed to take the car in last wednesday but my mom couldnt find my spare key and i had my other key 3 hours away at college so its not gunna get taken in to get worked on till this monday hopefully. another little setback, after it gets back im hoping to take it up to cbrd for a tune and then it goes to the body shop for a dent pulled and a badly badly needed detail haha.

I must admit a ticking sound sounds minor as far as rod bearings go (usually sounds like a really bad knocking) but im not a engine builder. But you seem to have a good plan and head on your shoulders. Continue as planned and be patient and you will have the evo you always wanted. And no it wouldnt surprise me that the owner before you ran 30 lbs of boost when he shouldnt have

Looks great I may end up doing the same because I cannot find any stock Evo's FS in the area. And the ones that are stock they want an insane amount for.
