whats up guys and gals,

im pretty new to the evo scene. i currently have a 2004 evo rs, and unfortunately, i need to replace some parts due to an accident. i had my mind set on just replacing the evo 8 bumper but i absolutely love the evo 9 bumper.

i know that some "purists" dont really like interchanging parts from the different generations. (i am originally from the honda scene.. and i see that crap all the time)

my question is:

would i be kinda "faking the funk" by putting an evo 9 bumper on my evo 8?

any input will be appreciated!

I think the 9 bumpers look allot better, unless your going to chop the nose on your 8, I would go with a 9.

 

i know its my car. im honestly torn between the two bumpers.

 

i vote evo 9 bumper just because i personally don't like the bumper extending on the emblem on the 8. don't think anyone will bash you because you put the 9 bumper on your 8. seems more common than you think.

 

I would do a nose chop on the 8 bumper.

 

Im seriously considering it. Or maybe have a evo 8 bumper put on the car for now... And then later on when i have extra cash... Buy a evo 9 bumper to have when i want to switch things up a bit

 

have you considered putting an aftermarket one like cwest or ings+1?

 

In my opinion... I love the bodykits etc...

Originally coming from the honda scene... Those were really frowned upon. But a cwest kit on an evo is just something that is purely amazing. Right now my main focus is just bringing her back from life support and driving her again. I just dont think a cwest kit or something is in the budget right now.

i've got a 9 bumper on my 8 and no one has ever said a thing to me about it, the only down side to the 9 is you can not see the beauty of intercooler as well

 

an VIII bumper with a chopped nose and do luck lip looks very aggressive.
