My winter IX RS project cleanup
I also confirmed that the one wire I pointed to above was indeed for the RS and MR factory gauges, for the oil temperature gauge. I pulled out this piece that connected to the sending unit, since I no longer have those gauges.
I don't know yet, I am hoping someone can look on their car, down by the alternator, and see what it's plugged into. It has to be something that's gone already in my car.
I've been admiring your work, I deleted my ac so I guess every electrical that connects to as can be traced all the way back to where exactly so it can be pulled out???? Is it the fuse box or does it go further into the interior? Have u sodered any wires yet?
he traced it back to the ecu inside and depinned them
I started re-installing the harness into the car today, so that I could test out the length of the wires, and test the fitment of the fuse block and battery under the dash. I think this has a lot of promise! Most of the harness is inside the car, just laying on the floor for now, but some of it goes out of the firewall. Here are some shots:

Again, this is just testing the length of the wire, and not everything is loomed yet, but this is showing great promise. The only wires coming out from inside of the car are through this one hole on the firewall. I am pretty sure the only wire that I need to extend is the large gauge starter wire, which needs to be extended by about 8" or so.
This picture shows the engine bay, with ALL of the wires and relays run, and as you can see, the drivers side of the bay is very very clean looking!

I do have some questions though, first, this brown 2 wire connector is just inches from the alternator plug. Does anyone know what it is for?

Next, there is a single wire that goes down behind the alternator, and I think to the oil temperature sending unit. Can someone confirm this?

If that is just for the oil temp sending unit for the stock RS gauges, it is coming out, but I want to confirm that before I definitely get rid of it.
Thanks guys!

the other ring connector im 99% sure is a ground for the alternator and of course the other plug just plugs into the alternator.
I am shocked how nice you got your engine to look with that wire reroute that is absolutely insane..... i want to do it to mine so bad.
i just ordered the belt to remove my a/c but i cant decide whether i want to remove the abs...it looks so clean with all that removed....
i also think im going to sell my full size koyo and buy a half like yours to do that intake setup

And thank you, the engine bay should look SUPER good once I get the charge pipe back on there. I just want to take my time, and do it perfect

ya i was looking at the stm kit but havent talked myself into deleting the abs seeing how i want to auto-x and run road courses this summer
as for the ff kit, ive been talking to toxic fab about a ff stock frame manifold and downpipe

I am at work now, ready to lengthen my starter wires. Of the entire engine harness, these are the ONLY 2 wires that I need to extend to move the battery and fuse block into the interior of the car. So simple!
