I was working on getting a spare set of headlight assemblies (Minus the HID stuff) and Taillight lenses (USDM) and doing the exact same thing.. My car is Tarmac black so I was going to paint it the same color. Any idea on how he was able to seperate the clear portion from the body and reattach it securely (also so it won't get moisture and fog up)

what's with all the oven use? I understand you need it to separate the housing, BUT why do you put them in the oven when putting the BACK together???

There is an excellent write-up on this procedure on dcevoclub.net.

I can't wait 'till I get a chance to do mine. I have rally red also, so its good to see what its gonna look like.

Good job bro, your ride is lookin sweet.

never used the oven method .. I use a high power heat lamp that is for body shop use .. you need to get the sealant hot enough to seperate and on reassembly you want the sealant to be soft enough to re seal ! !like i said pain in the *** ! not sure yet on pricing ! if you damage one lamp it is over $1,000 to replace !
