So I bake them at 200F, loosen it, mask it, paint it, then allow dry, put back together and put back in oven at 200F, then silicon it?

I'll try my taillights first since they are MUCH MUCH cheaper

I don't know if I'd want to risk putting 1000 dollar headlights in the oven and I don't know if I'd want to wait for a company to make them either and pay 1000 for another set.

Looks great though.

they are all the same.. cook for 10 mins @ 225... then when your putting them back together you bake the lens for 7 mins @ 225, then bake the housing for 7 mins @225.. slam em together and you should have no problem.. you can buy a jb weld type glue to add sealent, but do NOT use silicone, it will cause damage to the headlight and is not durable

Well I was wondering if this same tech. could be used for the tail lights... And I was wondering if anyone has tried painting the housing to match their exterior paint... It could look cool with red houseing on the red or even the blue housing on the blue.....

Someone needs to just go for it and do this instead of just talking about it...

Oh and by the way do you really have to sand the chrome? Couldn't you just use an enamel paint that would stick to plastics????

you don't have to sand it like you would bond-0, but you should scuff it with a pad... clearing the paint makes it shine perfect...
