Evo VIII Build in The Mitten State
what are you using to minimize/or eliminate the common gap found when front bumpers are removed for aftermarket bumpers, I'm refering to the gap underneath headlights?

Thanks for the kind words!
The IX front with SE lip, stock sides, and JDM rear is definitely a good look. It's what I had originally planned to stick with for a year round car, but Voltex got the better of me! It stood out as the coolest look to me when I started researching Evos.
Speaking of Voltex, the body shop called and said the bumper is painted and ready to go. I'll pick it up shortly and hopefully have time to install it tomorrow.

Sadly, I had some family stuff going on and wasn't able to make it out there. I'm sure it was a good time though!
Hmm, I haven't really noticed enough gap there to warrant any action. The Voltex bumper seems to fit well enough IMO.
I got a call from the body shop last Thursday that my Voltex Street front bumper had been painted and was ready to be picked up. I had the day off on Friday, so I had a little bit of free time to get it on the car while my daughter was sleeping.
All of the components back from paint. I had the body shop spray the mesh black for a cleaner look. A lot of people simply run without, but I feel it’s important to use it for a more complete appearance. If they intended you to run without, it wouldn’t be included, right?

Everything assembled and ready to rock:

A couple less than perfect snaps of the dirty car in the driveway with the bumper installed:

I liked the Evo IX setup with the Voltex front lip, but I LOVE the look of the car with the full street front bumper. It’s just slightly more aggressive, enough to really make it feel more or less complete with the other components. I still desperately want to do the wing and possibly add the optional canards to the front bumper, but we’ll see what happens. It doesn’t look as bad as I thought it would with the stock wing for the mean time though.

DAMN, i believe that your car is probably the best looking evo with the street bumper out there ! this should deff get a proper photo shoot and be put up on the voltex website as an example ASAP.
by the way i PMed you !

go all in!! canards and wing. looks good, imo voltex feels at home on red and graphite gray! but damn its so random the original owner recognizes the car!! thats awesome. Also rare to see pics of brand new evo's haha.
100% agree with this statement. superb job btw. Any idea how many clearcoats the applied to the bumper. I got a IX bumper and will like to relay the information to the painter.
Thanks a lot man!
Thanks Scott! I need to stop by sometime and grab that spare tire lol. Glad to hear your car ran well at the shootout! Impressive times.
I don't know about that haha, but thanks for the kind words. PM'd you back!
At least yours probably doesn't have to deal with snow and salt! lol
Definitely not for everyone, but thank you!
I don't have a lot else planned for the exterior- the wing and probably canards will most likely come in the spring when the snow is gone and I put the aero back on. Possibly this fall, but that's the likely time frame at this point.
I'm considering some more handling goodies from Cusco this winter, as well as a few interior additions. I might do a new set of wheels this spring, but it will depend on my budget. Maybe even some conservative power adders. I'm kind of ADD, so you'll just have to wait and see!
Thanks... I think! haha
haha, I agree for sure! I wish I had the bank for the widebody at times, but I don't think it is going to happen. I was pumped I was able to track down the original owner as well! Always cool to know stuff like that. I think canards and wing would be really cool as well.
Thanks for the kind words! To be honest I have no idea on the clear coat front.
Sorry!

I respect what you have done to the car and all. To each his own, but IMO I think the car looks the best that its ever looked its entire life on page 11 with all the OEM parts. But thats just me.
