Would it be possible to use the Red Needles with blue undeglow lighting? so at the Needle is red with a blue under glow sweeping past lit blue numbers and marks?

From what Justin from ImportCarPartsPlus.com has said, you need to shave off the red on the back of the needles and paint them white to get the blue color. My guess is that the white reflects the light coming from the underside of the base of the needle as it travels down the needle itself, so the red backing of the stock needles wouldn't reflect the light the same way white would and would probably give a purplish effect.

What if the needles were painted red up top, so they are red during the day time and the blue light shows through the clear bottom for a red/black looking needle with blue underglow at night?

That's what I meant.

Okay, here's what one might see at night:

This is for the white on black one. To achieve the blue, we'd apply a layer of blue filter behind the gauge face. If the backlight for the gauges can be switched off during the day (rewired to parking lights maybe). Then we'll see white during the day and blue at night.

I also like the picture at the top of page 3 with the blue line and red at specific plaves. It looks great.

The "Goin Nutz here..." one for day time and the "Okay, here's what one might see at night:" one for night.

that would be ideal....!!!

If there isn't a light behind the "Evolution VIII" part, I'd put one there. And the gauges will be designed to allow that.

You know, I think one of the biggest problem hindering the EL gauges is the fact that all those warning lights are integrated with the gauge face. At least that's what I think.
