I support the idea of having 10k rmp and moving the rev limit to 8k. I also support the 180mph. however I like the Evolution VIII as opposed to just the Evolution, but it would not be a deal breaker for me. The key is the BLM Matching... don't let anyone pull you off course....

Okay, As of this point in time, there will be no more additions to this gauge design. Below is the finaly design which will most likely be produced. I really appreciate all the suggestions that have been put forth. However, I feel that adding any more to this design will only make it worse. I must stress that this is the first time I've ever ventured into gauge design/production so I can't entertain some of the more radical concepts as cool as they might be.

There are still issues I have to overcome with this design. Will the gauge be lit properly once installed into the gauge cluster? Will the image be too complex for the standard silk screen process, if so, how much will it cost to use a higher resolution screen? All these things are new to me so please bare with me as I try to work them out and bring this project full circle.

Here are the latest designs:

Again, no need to worry about color since I expect them to be customized to individual tastes.

That 2nd one looks awesome. I love the color change in the rev limit, that was a smart idea.

I can only wait (if you do) for a design matched for the Defi's or other gauges...

Just looking at that gauge cluster moves the Evo up the rungs. It clearly elaborates and points out the incredible nature of the car. It says move over Porsche and Ferrari, Here is a true sports car for the true enthusiast.. No need to spend money on a name, just enjoy the goods..

Hm I was just thinking... how do you get the needle to move less (now that we have more rev/mph markers than before) to indicate the same information?

It moves exactly the same. IT just now has markings when it rotates just as far as before that put it into blank area..

Are you sure? The 160mph mark looks like it used to be where 170mph is right now.. well I could be wrong. It's hard to use the RalliArt as an example because that is an actual replacement unit and not an overlay.

I would not use the Ralliart gauge for comparison since they did change the electronics underneath to move the rpm needle slower so that they squeeze 10k into the same 9k range as stock.

The ecu basically sends a signal with the cluster electronics interpret and move the needle accordingly.
