Okay, Here's a new revision of the design.

- Font has been changed
- Main markers are narrower
- Sub markers are slightly longer
- Fuel/Temp markers are shorter

Here's a CF version, but I haven't decided how to implement it yet. It might not turn out exactly like this.

For those that like the red/white/blue designs, I still plans to make those. It's just easier for me to design it in b&w first and add color once everything is done.

Todo:
- Add km/h markers
- Also going to try the temp gauge with numbers instead of just H/C.

Alright people, fire away.

Bryan

Please tack on at least a markers for 180mph and the "180".

I agree, add 180mph just to make it even out.

IMO, I think the longer lines indicating the revs and the 20/40/60mph marks are just a tad long. From far away it looks kinda like eyelashes or something. If they were a tad shorter then I think it'd look a lot better!

Awesome job so far though, and I love the blue. I would be all over this if you guys were able to put this out.

Everyone please comment. Personally, I think the speedo is too cluttered. The km/h I can live with, but the 180mph/300kph markers is pushing it a bit.

I'm not even sure they will light up properly. Can someone (Seth) get a pic of the cluster without the face so maybe I can get an idea of where all the backlights are?? Right now, the 180 marker is edging real close to the service engine warning.

Thanks,
Bryan

Thumbs up

Looking better and better!

Please don't lose the km/h ticks. Perhaps using some color will help cut down on clutter. The VDO instrument cluster in my old Saab does this. I'll take a pict this afternoon. Anyhow, here's my two-pixels:

I can take a picture, but I won't be home until Saturday (which is where the cluster is), so if someone else can snap a shot, that would be cool.

Bryan, how about taking out the arc for the kph and just leave dots for the markings and see if that cleans things up a bit? I think the 180 makes it looks symmetrical, but with the kph we've lost the somewhat cleaner, classier look.

It is looking good. I like the 180 as well. If you can find a way to fit it in that would be great. I also like the Blue circle and the red as before. As long as it lights up like you previously posted (ie - kinda matches the BLITZ BLM gauges) it is perfect...

Having 300 on a speedo just makes ya tingle... even if it's km/h..

I seriously think the long lines makes it look cluttered. Try making the lines shorter, you'll see what I mean.

Try blue rings. that will help break up all the white.

Here's the Saab's VDO instrument cluster:

Old school, but easy to read. Hope it helps. Dots instead of the ticked ring might work for the km/h display.
