Looking For A Car Alarm

I'm looking for an alarm system for the Evo that WON'T interfere with a turbo timer. I was thinking about a 2 - way system...probably the Compustar 2WSS - A. Does anybody with a good 2 - way alarm system that they use on their Evo??

Why don't you just get the turbo timer feature enabled within the alarm? Does your turbo timer read off sensors (oil temp, engine temp) or just set on a timer countdown? I have the Compustar 2WFM with the turbo timer set to 2 min. countdown. It's been good so far, I've heard some issues with the 2WSS from my alarm shop about some inconsistent remote starting.

I think the best 2-way alarm systems out there are Compustar and DEI (Viper, Clifford, etc.)

Thing is that I don't want/need remote start. A remote start just adds to the cost.

The turbo timers on the remote start systems only lasts for 2 minutes which is kind of short. Sometimes my HKS Type 0 sets the timer at over 2 minutes on Auto mode.

I have the Viper 2-way system (DEI Components) and it works fine with my TT, the only thing you need to do, to make the system work is set the alarm to automatically arm when the car shuts off, as opposed to relying on when you tell it to arm, otherwise it disarms itself when the car shuts off, via the TT, because the doors are closed it thnks you are trying to get out. thus unlocking the doors for you. This still happens it just rearms after 15 secs. So theoretically a thief has a 15 sec window or getting in your car. Do a Search for "Some Worthless *****" and see how well my alarm worked about two weeks ago.

Also another note I live in Chicago So I needed Remote Start, do yourself a favor never let anyone park your car w/o using the ebrake, if you remote start and someone parked it (a valet, or service person) in gear w/o the ebrake you car will launch, because for it to work on manual cars they need to bypass the clutch engaged start up, ask me how i found out.

Is there a way to disable remote start when you're installing the alarm system? I'm considering going with the DEI Valet 2 - way system. It's got remote start but I think you need to install an additional relay for that. Heres the link: http://www.directed.com/security/valet/val_2way.asp

Where did you get your system and where did you get it installed?
