bump steer... toe in or out

When the rear suspenion compresses, does it toe in or toe out? I'm also wondering how much bump steer the Whiteline bump steer correction kit removes.

Correct. Would be quite dangerous if it toed out.

That's what I was thinking. Wanted to see someone say it though.

has anyone verified this with measurement or calculation? is this for stock ride height and/or lowered?

Yes - stock rear bumpsteer generates toe-in on compression and toe-out on extension. My favorite aspect of the bump-steer kit is the added stability in braking.

It's built in by the factory to promote some understeer. It's also a design characteristic of a double-arm rear suspension geometry. Toe-in on the outside and toe-out on the inside. I have no calculations to back that up, but I believe it.

My question is, do you get more neg camber under compression in the rear while achieving toe-in at the same time?

I sent an email to Whiteline and got this response:

"Standard rear suspension increases toe-in in compression. KCA388 [Whiteline rear bumpsteer kit] alters bump steer by approximately +/- 1.1mm/10mm travel. It can be installed to either increase or decrease bump steer."
