I would guess you're going to need about 5-6 degrees of caster (about as much as you get with the plates) And you'll want at least -2.5 degrees of camber.

With that much tire and that little of a spring rate you're going to be on your bumpstops when you corner really hard. Make sure you have the whiteline RC kit to let your geometry help your lack of spring rate.

so ive got my eye on a set of tc105n's as i prepare for track time next season, and would be sticking to 17's. This gives the option of either 17x9 +35 or 17x9.5 +32. i want to stay away from touching my fenders, but at the same time id like to run a 265.

suspension is bilsteins and gtworx springs, so i believe inboard clearance is what will become an issue, before outboard (fenders).

would a 265 be feasible? optimistically even a 275? or will i just need to stick to 255's?

265's on the 9's will fit, the others will need a roll.

right now im running 17x9 +30's with 255/40R17 star specs and when im 4 wheel drifting like a hooligan, the rear fenders just touch the sidewall. its not enough to leave and marks, but it does just touch.

i have written in my tuning notebook "18x9.5 w/ 265's target +35 to +38". so i apparently read that somewhere on here in my surfing.

sounds like something i typed. with that combo, the rears will need a slight roll. +38 is obviously better, but its getting hard to find anything +35 and above in a 9.5" wheel. +35 was not my first choice, but its what i could find in a cheapish wheel that looked decent.

the tc105's are about the only wheel with a doable offset that is light and you dont see left and right...im sick and tired of rpf1's, but of course they come in 9.5 +38.

I have a question for the guys running 275/40/17's

I am on stock suspension with Tein S-tech springs. Will my front tires have any clearance issues with the factory strut being so wide?

My car is an 03 Evo 8
Wheels are SSR GT2's 17x9 +35 offset.
Suspension is stock with Tein Springs.
No camber kit.

I'm running 265 Z1s on 18x9.5+22, rolled fenders, on 800lb rear springs (much higher than the average coilover rates), -1.5* rear camber and it still rubs on bumps/very hard turns. I still need to relocate the rear bumper bolt but its rubbing more besides that. I think for 265s with that offset you'll need to do some pulling. I'm stil working on it.

just a tad more info. i found a guy running the tc105's in 17x9.5 +32 with no fender mods using tanabe gf210's...but hes running 245's.

i wish i could figure out if a 255 star spec would squeeze in there, being one of the wider 255's. or the 17x9 with 265's?

the 255's have a listed 10.4 inch section width and the 265's are about 10.7 inches (the 255 section width is 0.3 inches wider than an AD08)

so 17x9.5" +38's? 255's will fit fine with no roll, 265's might need a slight roll, but very minimal. that should be a very nice fitting setup. if you need a roller, i picked up an eastwood roller and i have a nice high volume, heat gun that isnt quite as hot as most (a good thing!) that i would rent out.

no, the 17x9.5's only come in +32.

now that i look at this pic he sent me tho, it looks like the tanabes are not a very low spring at all, and i might have issues on gtworx.
