Ultra racing pieces seem to be of very good quality, I haven't had an issue and I have there fender braces and trunk cage.
Nice Don you still got the BBY Evo VIII? I'd love to see that some time.

I put some on my 4 last month and while I was expecting some ridiculous improvement and didn't...I was happy with the result. Feels better around town and on the track it is noticeable which is where it should be.

Have any of you ever held the Ultra Racing and Nagisa front brace together side by side? Which one is heavier?

From a price point I am leaning towards the Ultra Racing one, additionally it seems that the Ultra Racing one is a direct bolt-on with no drilling required.

Let me know your thoughts

Just received my UR braces and can honestly say preliminary aesthetic quality of these totally took me by surprise. Especially for the price. Will be installing them in the next few days.

I don't have a side by side comparison of the two. But the UltraRacing ones are a nice piece and I noticed an improvement. You can look at my post on page 5 for what I thought of them.

The UltraRacing definitely require you to drill two holes, but that's actually the easiest part of the installation.

Thanks for your review....

I looked at the pics of the Nagisa units and it appears to bolt down in 4 locations rather than the three locations of the UR units. I'm not sure if it makes a difference in strength by having an extra mounting point.....what do you think?

I received my ultra racing braces last week. And while I agree it's a quality piece (a bit heavy, but it's strong steel) I was upset that the listing shows it as being in California, yet they were sent from Kuala Lampur. So it took an extra week to get here.

I mean, I don't mind buying from overseas, but when you list an item as being in country, you expect it within 5 days. Not 2-3 weeks!

How much does each bar weigh?
How clear and detailed are the installation instructions?

Sorry to hear it took so long for yours to show up hatesposers. Ordered mine late Friday night, June 28th and they were in my hands by noon this Monday, July 8th. Yes the ebay ad states they are in Cali and the fact that they are in Malaysia is a bit annoying but got to Texas quick enough I guess.

AreSTG,
I'd have to say that this brace is not heavy in the slightest for being steel. Did not weigh them but seemed like around 3 lbs a piece would be realistic to me.

Mine came with zero installation instructions. After the removal of the fenders it's very straight forward. I went at the job alone so had no extra hands to secure that the door didn't move from its original latching position. Used some folded up cardboard salvaged from a clutch box from an install earlier in the day. Folded three pieces up and wedged them in between the door jamb and door tightly. Kept one hand on door with best pressure I could muster up and used the impact with the other to remove all of the bolts. Did it all as quickly and safely as I could to limit amount of time the hinges were free. Positioned the bracket and impacted the bolts back in place. Did all of this while the car was completely on the ground so suspension could compress as again, I was paranoid about potential door latching issues. Then just drilled my two holes, inserted provided bolts with some washers of my own, electrical taped my finger to get the nut on the bolt, and impacted them in. I would really recommend at least using an electric impact at this stage since you really can't get a wrench to those nuts with the boxed style of the surrounding steel reinforcement.

After they were installed and all was tight I removed cardboard from the door jamb and checked to see that the door latched as before. All was a go so then just reassembled the fenders.

Not pretty but very effective. Was doing this at the end of what had already been a slammed twelve hour day at the shop with Texas heat in full effect.

Haven't even moved it yet so no opinions of the modification beyond install at this point. Having the car aligned next door tomorrow and hopefully tuned next week. Will be happy to report back but admittedly, after three years I'm not sure how much if anything about the vehicle's driving characteristics I'll remember.
