Clunking front end noise??
My next trial will be to lower it down on the coilovers and see if that changes anything. Correct on the jack...if I lift it with my hoist sometimes that stops the noise. Mine is a constant soft knock...not a clumk...tho it clunks sometimes as well.

FOUND A KNOCK!
Try this....stand on the radiator support on one side of the other....jump up and down holding the bonnet so it doesnt make noise...knock...knock...knock....Now I just need another body to do the same while I hold things to see where it is coming from!!..Try it!!

Ok so unfortunately when you have a " clunk " it could be 100 different things. I've had a really bad clunk during hard right turns. Initially when I got under the car The right CV axle had a huge rip in it, so I replaced it. Clunk was still there, again only under hard right turns. Today I had my mechanic come along for a ride on some back roads ( he had fun haha ). He was shocked at how well the car handled but even more shocked by the awful sound.
We got back and put the car on the lift and proceeded to give everything under there a good shake. While shaking the exhaust I FOUND A BROKEN bracket!!!! So under hard right cornering my exhaust was bangning against the driveshaft!!!! I'd post pics if I knew how lol
Good luck to all of you and your dam clunks!!!!

OK..If I stand on the radiator support and jump up and down we can look in under the guard and see the coilover shaft/spring hat knocking into the top hat/pillow ball...I will pull the coilover off this weekend but it appears there may have been a collar that sits on top of the spring perch that then contacts the underside of the top hat...its about 3mm or 1/8" and that is definitely my knock...I am guessing/hoping the collar has failed...which will be a simple fix with a few washers.......will report over the weekend when I drop them out. Does it both sides and went about the same time.

im thinking mine is related to top of spring / top hats.. im gna try adn get a hold of my friends stock shocks and see if it stops the noise if i install them in. and take a closer look at my ones when theyre out of the car
Okay, so I read the tech manual and it says not to use an impact wrench to tighten the strut nut, but a combo of two specialty tools...otherwise it will "cause the valve inside the strut to drop out".
I did this on both of my Monroe struts...could this be causing the clunking noise? I had thought it was the springs shifting on the polyeurethane mounts I used...now I'm nervous I hurt my new struts...

BUMP ~
i dunno if its a good idea to stnad on that but i did anyway, and it does seem like my noise comes from my left top hat/or under it where the top of the spring sits..
did you confirm anything with yours yet rorym ??
My car has been clunking for the past 2 years but recently its getting louder. went under the car and found a bad tie rod end.. but that didnt fix it. put the car on a lift and if i wiggled the tire real fast back and forth with my hands i could hear a clunking that almost seems like its coming from the inner tie rods or the steering rack itself.
I had this clunk with my tein ra's took them apart and ended up being the pillowball had up and down play but the retaining ring that holds the pillowball was starting to come out. Tigtened it up and no more clunk
I'm having the same clunking noise from the front right on my car as well. I notice it most when braking and hitting bumps. I have stock struts with aftermarket adjustable top hats and i think this connection may be the problem... I've checked most the other big stuff, nothing moves while shaking the strut, all the bolts on the lower control arm are solid... Idk...
