Suspension choice for an evo9 mr

I have a 2006 Evo9 MR USDM, and i am wanting to buy a new suspension for it.
First i want to tell that i mostly use it for track days, drag racing and ocasionally trips, so i want a firm suspension and i am not bothered by a stiff ride.
I am looking at a Megan racing or a HKS. Another guy has HKS on his Evo 9 and told me that is significally better than the stock Bilstein. Also i heard of Tein that are very good. I also would want something that i could set the ride high. Price is not the determinant factor in chosing the suspension. If you could give me some advice on these or maybe other i would be thankfull!

My wife has Tein on hers with tanabe electronic dampening that is adjustable in the car. City trip? Dampening at 1. Track day? Dampening at 14. Can adjust front and rear independently. It was the only modification on the car, and really happy with it.

Steer clear of budget Taiwan coils like Megans...stock suspension with some nice springs will likely be superior. Stating that price is not a big determinant, I would look straight to Öhlins DFVs. Those will likely be the best you can buy for what you want and they are a killer all-around coilover.

I've heard good things about Fortune Auto, I myself am most likely going with the fortune auto 500 with upgraded swift springs and radial bearing mount upgrade

I would have to recommend Ohlins.
I had HKS on my car when I got it and all I can say is the ride was horrible on the street compared to the Ohlins DFVs I put in. I didn't adjust them much or anything and I know they were in good working order.

Yeah I have ridden in quite a few DFV setups on S2000s and the compromise between handling and ride quality is amazing!

Since you are in Romania, I would say give BRR a call and tell them your goals, they are 1st rate and will get you sorted out for less than you would think http://www.brr.at/cms/baumschlager_r...racing_en.html

Some of the above responses are not taking into consideration your location and access to service/rebuild.

Ohlins by far. There is no comparing them to Teins. They have better valving and much better quality of construction so they should last for years without rotting away. There really is no comparison and are arguably one of the best all around coilovers.

It all depends on your budget. You can get a set of BCs or Fortune Autos for cheap or you can get a set of Ohlins for $3000. It all depends on what you want to spend. The Fortune Auto coilovers are a great choice for the money but if you can swing it by all means go for the Ohlins!

Although my buddy has a set of Tein Flex on his 2006 STi and they lasted him 80k miles now. The only issue he has is the collar is seized on one of them.

Unless you have enough of a budget that you can buy higher-end coilovers, you are better off for track use with Bilstein struts and good springs.

Lots of people change something in a car and think that the change must be an improvement.

This x10000. The minimum buy-in for coils that will improve over the stock suspension is about what the Ohlins will run...otherwise some Bilsteins and GT Worx or swift springs will Probably be the best bet! Or just enjoying the stock suspension tuning
