Why BMW even the E46>evo ct9a
Dont be mistaken, this isn't all an effort for king of my track. It's purely just to keep up to modern stock turbo r35's at the track. Unlike you guys I get my jollies not having to point by BMW "the ultimate driving machine".

Bit of a schmoe you are. Shouldn't have to point these BMW's by even with Brembos if your car is set up right and has decent pads and cooling - I suspect either springs or rake aren't where they should be given that I recall some comment at some point about you fitting less aggressive pads in the rear in order not to have too much braking in the rear ...

The reason bigger brakes are on beamers is that M3's are somewhere between 3500-3700# and they need more brake and for that reason come with 18" and 19" OEM wheels. But if you want to play stop whining and put your money where your mouth is.
Chassis set-up and driver training will likely give you more bang for your buck to stay ahead of other traffic

interesting point. i think i've had to give a point-by to a Limited-class GTR once.. but that thing was a full-on race car. now that i think of it, i don't really point anyone by. i feel coo now LOL
I read the first few pages and stopped. HOW HAS NO ONE SUGGEST TITANIUM PAD HEAT SHIELDS???
Dont worry OP. I will come up to BC and kick your *** on my stock brake setup all day long.

It was mentioned. Some of aren't sure if we like keeping so much heat in the pads and rotor.
I have ti backing plates. Yeah please make a video of your lap 1:16 on street tires with stock brakes.

Is because they have many options to run 380mm brakes from stoptech or brembo on 18inch wheels when we have NONE. What gives. It's not like they actually need the brakes since they make poop for power.

okay:
so my setup is okay because i'm not in "stock form" even though i'm not using a BBK?. so you are saying the stock setup won't hold up to hard track driving? or...? which is it?
even going back four years, this thread and the post you refer to mentions, "The Evo brakes WILL fade in stock form and they are not as strong."
so are you talking about stock brakes (pads/fluids/etc) or the caliper and rotors themselves? you are using an old thread that shows the shortcomings of the OEM brake setup as proof that those of us with upgraded fluids and pads are being ridiculous.
you can't compare off-the-show-room evo brakes to a BBK on any car.
Your not in stock form hence your upgraded fluids ducting and what not to make up for the extra power. Which is still borderline granted your on tracks with more sweepers to allow for cool down.
Now if you said you felt like still had plenty of brakes with another 100whp we'd both know you'd be full of it to your eyeballs.

I think post #18 sums this up quite nicely if a stock evo fades imagine one with any additional power
