it looks like it's possible that the front sway bar had shifted to one side far enough that it was rubbing/hitting a bolt - when we looked over the car, he moved that fsb and the noise was not as present in the front as much, or at least i did not notice it as much. i'm surprised, thought if it had moved that it would just move side to side after that. There's no way I can put locking rings on it but interesting.

The rear is still clunking, I'll check a few other things but the bolts are all tight on it

so i think the front clunk is gone, after moving the front sway bar more toward the middle

i did the same with the rear which was off to one side a lot and moved it around, but still getting some clunk.

what nut should I use instead of the ones WL provided? and should i use a washer too?

I just got a regular sized nut and just thread locked them. Made it a lot easier to remove/install.

Sorry, no idea. I just went to Home Depot and I took the old original nut and checked what that fit on.

DIY endlinks are cheaper and easier to work and so you can choose to build them with tougher sphericals. After putting these in on my friends Evo he is getting a similar clunking noise.

Somehow my local Home Depot didn't have the M10x1.25 Nylon lock nut that I felt should replace the serrated ones they send you. McMaster Carr will have them and if those nuts are going to be ordered from there I might as well order hardware for a set of DIY front endlinks.
This?

I also have the white line rear end links and they were notorious for clunking. I ended up doing a jam nut configuration with everything tightened beyond normal torque spec. I might have even done a total of 3 nuts! I will take a picture next time I have a chance. What I did finally stopped the nuts from getting loose. They would get loose within one month of normal street driving!

no more clunking. swapped the serrated nut with a nut, locking washer, and washer - but the actual issue may have been the endlink body, the washers that are supposed to be on either side of the gold part were just floating around, so i tightened those against the gold body. anyway no more clunks front or rear for me! but may be undone on the track tomorrow who knows
