Destroyed wheel & tire
So, got a letter in the mail today from the city's insurance company. They denied my claim for the following reason: M.G.L. c.84, Sec 15, a municipality cannot be considered negligent or libable for damages that occur as a result of a defect in a public way unless they had prior notice that the defect existed and they failed to repair it within a reasonable period of time.
ABSOLUTE BULL****.
This is what I pay excise tax for, to keep the roads up to par, hell even driveable. When I destroy my wheel beacuse they are not driveable, I don't get reimbursement? WTF.
When I had brought my wheel to get mounted and balaced at Sears, the gentleman said he had 3 people prior to me getting new tires due to the same spot. Not one of those people complained either? HIGHLY unlikely.
How should I proceed? This is BS.

Hey, destroyed my wheel today too. Amazingly (wish I had pictures becuase it really is amazing...my wheel looks way worse than yours) the tire didn't lose pressure...bead still held. I don't know why my tire held together but I sure as hell don't trust it now to go high-speed! If you still have a rim to sell, let me know.
