I may consider a meth kit as well. Any way to boost octane or cool intake charge will surely help significantly.

To anyone considering a Red, please don't let my results disuade you just yet. There may very well be another issue with my car causing it to pull timing the way it does, and spool slower than Blacktrack's. Also note I am running a cat, albeit a high flow.

More to come after we look my setup over and see what others run with this turbo.

Do you have a dyno with the same mods but the stock turbo to compare?

It'll be interesting to see how the Garrett turbos do when they come to market with their larger A/R turbine housings.

I feel the stock, i.e. small turbine housing of the FP Red is its limiting factor on pump gas.

No, I did most of the mods at once, so unfortunately couldn't dyno with the same setup & stock turbo.

I'd expect the red to produce over 400 easily...

edit: after putting nearly 1000 miles on the turbo I went back to AMS today and had them tighten the stock WGA 2 turns. Didn't put it back on the dyno, but between that, Chris's tweaking on the steet, and the cooler weather, I noticed a substantial improvement in spool and power . He also adjusted load values which appears to have cleared up my P1235 CEL issue. What I was calling compressor surge, is more of a flutter than a violent surge. It's still there though, and we don't have a good explaination for why.

Glad to hear the stock actuator preloaded a couple turns helped get more boost. I bet if you get a Forge WGA and have it start at 26 PSI tapering to 24 PSI they should be able to safely tune for that on 93 octane as well.
