So, are the 2012's ok or not because they have some 2012's in F.L. going for $30k brand new and I may be getting ready to take them a $10k down payment for a deal like this.

I am implying that the MIVEC looks like the Ralliart. The Ralliarts do have smaller cams.

why does it matter? if you're going to buy a new one the 2013 will have the same issues, you can bet that.

Depends on your area. In my area the base model is $35k. Or you can drive 5 hours up north and pay $33k. But you wont find it any cheaper without purchasing sight un-seen out of state and paying for the shipping. For me it would be $5k off and I would jump on that

And then some. Usually when a new Evo comes out, the map is changed just enough to throw us for a curve for a bit.

5 of the 6 I have done recently are down on power mod for mod. I have another '12 GSR that I am going to baseline, swap cams, send the cams off, and then retune to see what the differences are. If I had stock cams I would just swap some 08 cams in it stock to stock and see what it did.

I dont feel anything really contradicts so much as uncorrected to uncorrected the 12 is down 25whp stock to stock and an average of 15whp mod for mod. The cause is currently unknown which is why I am trying to track down whether its electronic, mechanical, or both.

yes, and that is exactly what i want to know.

WHY is the 2012 down?

someone said "why does it matter?"

because, if its something easily corrected...then it doesnt...but if it isnt easily corrected...ill be buying a used EVO.

thats why

so, when someone figures this out for sure...it will help. I plan to autox this car and dont want to have a 25whp disadvantage

Have you been checking the production dates on the 2012's? Why is 5 of the 6 down and not all 6? Did they make a change in the middle of the production year? Some of our build dates are Nov 2011. Maybe the production date makes a difference. If all (100%) of the 2012's are not down in power then there must have been a change during the production. And if we can find out when (production date wise) that change occurred then maybe people can still pick up a 2012 not down on power simply by inspecting the production date on the door before they purchase.

isn't that implies false advertisement? Mitsubishi claimed the horse power is the same as previous years model but it's not. That could ruin a company reputation and maybe staging for a law suit.

I remembered Mazda had similar issue when their RX-8 doesn't stand up to the horse power advertised.

2012s seem to baseline similar to previous years, they just don't look like they respond to mods quite as well (~5% off).

of course it's still very early to say anything definitive. i'm just happy JohnBradley is kind of a badass and will probably figure it out.

But JohnBradley stated :

So he's saying the stock 2012 is down 25whp right?
