Terrible Tune
That is what I was expecting to see, I already have a a precision 5858 upgrade about to be ready to be installed, I was told it would barely make 425hp and 360trq. But I was trying to be sold on E85 through the conversation saying I could hit 360 with what I have maybe 500hp with the new turbo. I would do E85 but there is not enough pumps in the area to make that kind of commitment.
Yea E85 is sweet but not enough stations around here and it will be a headache because i'm planning a lot of road trips. i'm very happy with the power i made. I did the AMS downpipe the night before the tune. man that sucks but it was worth it in the end. Good luck on your build
I hope that others can learn from this and do there very own homework and not just what people may tell them. Unfortunately there are to many uneducated buried in the masses to believe what is good or bad. I have learned to go and research and look at the past experiences of others using the services and how the staff treats the consumer. I think people in businesses forget that its not always about the 5 10k dollar or more jobs, but more like the 20 or 40 1k dollar or less and how you treat those people. If I'm treated with great customer service I am more then willing to start bringing more money to the business and telling friends and family. In return more money for this business. I hate when I see businesses treat people as if they are annoying for small jobs. Sorry for the rant..just aggravated.
Am I hearing this right, you ordered an email/OTS tune, used the dyno get a base figure of 322/330. Then had a "custom" tune which resulted in 15whp LESS and 40 wtq LESS?!?!
What self respecting "professional" would let you leave their shop with a car worse off than when it arrived? I would have put the "generic" email tune back on and walked out.
Please tell me I'm missing something, cuz that is freaking tragic.....

6-7 weeks later this tuner was in town so Rat asked, since he had payed for an email tune, and if he had time to squeeze him in , could they finish what would be done via email on the dyno. Tuner said come by tomorrow and that's when all the BS happened.
The 2nd and last run is what's on the dyno sheet in post#1. During the 2nd run Rat made more power on this "way too hot" day then the first time we went, when it was 80!! SMH. Plus he only did 7 runs for a tune??? When he was done he said, "ok that'll be $400 and a quarter" Eventhough, Rat had already paid for a email tune that he never got and had been clear that he didn't have any money before the tuner told him to come on down.
What's messed up about this tuner is that so many Evo 8 & 9 guys around here talk him up like he's God's gift to Evo's. Everything that came out of this guys mouth sounded like someone read a Super Street once and was trying to sell himself as a top tuner. This guy is a joke!

I was sitting on the toilet one day last week and there on the floor was a 1995 issue of Turbo magazine. I was like OMG what luck. So I read a couple of articles and boyah... Tomorrow Im going to become a tuner.
It's on Rat to disclose the tuner's name. I know he doesn't want to come across as a shyat talker or cry baby but I am trying to get him to!!!!

That is even odderererer?? The same guy who made the email base map, also did worse on the dyno (I thought they were 2 separate people, thanks for clarifying)??
A)If I paid for an email tune, and only ever got the 1 starter map, yes the "dyno clean-up tune" should be free; maybe the cost of having to rent the dyno for an hour/whatever, but certainly not for his time, when it was pre-paid for.
B)Why did the guy not put back on the base map? EDIT: nevermind he did
C) There has GOT to be some mechanical issue for these results to get so bad (like the LICP has a quarter sized hole in the coupler, something).
Since you mentioned a new EBC was installed, my guess is he hooked the 3port wrong; hence why he could not get more than 18psi. If a"Tooner" can't diagnose that......****s going to get worse. I'd run, that's for sure.

many guys using tuner forums etc to get downloadable base / stage maps etc, or where ever they can scoop them up. And then they presenting them as they own creations...
But if they got put on the test they are fail. It is not a new story. Maybe in this forum. Many "tuner" immadiatly fails , and blame on your set up as soon as they knowlidge hit the wall.
Some times they even try to "peak" / "personalize "the map they got, that is when your "premature failure or the previous tuner" (according to them ) comes into play and your engine give up.
There is sooo many BS going around about tuning , so you guys better off spend more and be safe when you go a REAL tuner. One way you cab find them, they have they own shop with they OWN dyno( but still better read the review about them before you go there). Real tuners do not travel around with a suit case only , just if they are on a travel job.
Good read and i hope eye opening for many
