DVD Hack for the MMCS
At $10, it's probably not worth the hassle of a refund.
Sucks though.
I guess I'll be forced to keep my eyes on the road until someone let's me watch Madagascar and merge without looking!
.....Let's see who get's that one.

im working on a DIY
i can give ya a quick run down on this i have my dvd player working fine all the time its really simple to do
ok to start you need to buy 2 switches some wire and connectors or solder and heat shrink
cut green wire with red tracer install switch where you prefer it wire switch in between cut wire
next if any of you have done this you know it works half *** shuts off every 35 to 40 sec
so on to part 2 gps antenna if your careful you can make a slit in the side of the cable all the way to the core wire get a pick pull the core wire out a bit cut it splice the 2nd switch on the core mount you switches and your done
reason for the 2nd switch is that your car looks for a gps signal every 35 to 40 sec for the navi system if it detects that your moving it stops the player
so if you want to watch a movie turn both switches off if you need navi turn both switchs on all there is to it
only thing i found with doing this is i no longer listen to the radio
and it takes about 35 to 40 sec for your navi to relocate you on the map when you need it
good luck guy and have fun
works great for me

complain since its disabling the rest of the system.
Hey all, thought I'd post in and let you know we created a 100% SOFTWARE patch to disable the dvd in motion prohibition. No wiring needed at all.

It disrupts NOTHING other than the DVD in motion prohibition. I have it installed on my 08 Lancer for the past 2-3 weeks and works 100%. We'll have AUX Video in motion fixed soon, too.
Installing the patches should be as simple as burning an ISO image and sticking it in the CD drive. There's another thread on that site where we're asking for "Feature requests" if there's any other "annoyances" with the MMCS you want "fixed".

Would someone who has the MMCS on an Evo X do this for me?
* Hold SET+NAVI until you get the maintenance screen
* Touch Version Indication
* Send a pic of the screen or type out the info, especially the "Loader" and "Application" lines
Thanks!

I don't have the unit (Wish I did!), but I would bet this is the real thing.
I'm thrilled that you've found an update mechanism to deliver patches! That's a huge step. The whole of MMCS is open now, have fun!
Thanks for your work.
(Out of curiousity, how are you dealing with the version numbers? If I read correctly, it will only update if the version number is higher. Are you simply increasing the version, or have found another work around? If you're increasing the version, will that have any effect on future Mitsu updates?)

Brian
Downloaded the rar file, performed the unrar to get the iso image, saw the readme, burned to cd and the mmcs comes up with a message that says "check the disk." Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance

here is the picture that you requested and thanks for all the hard work on getting this fix for the MMCS out there for everyone.....

Cool thanks -- looks like the Evo X indeed uses the same software version as the 08 Lancers. (edit: take that back, the bootloader is the same, but the app version is much newer...)
As for why your update isn't taking, not really sure right now. I'll try and look into it.
