making small adjusting to all 3 in unison is the best way.
Thanks for your help! I will try again to adjust all 3 in unison. Every time I try adjust that bolt it looks like it barely moves and moves the beam up/down instead of diagonal. If the adjustment nuts are stripped, anyway I can fix it?

you will have to take the headlight apart to get to the parts but even then, mine is disassembled and i have no clue where to find a replacement.

in the end i may end up changing all the hardware and using metal parts.

I used a Philips screwdriver to turn the bolt to adjust the level and it worked fine for me!

they shouldnt have been that fragile. i only messed up one of mine because i took it apart and after a month or so when i put it back together i forgot that crap was left hand threaded. so a bit of thread turning kinda whored out the threads. a dollop of jb weld and retapping it is about the best i can do with it now.

I have halogen HL to.
I move the pins you say, but I have problem with the VIOLET wire, and the Low Beam dont play bi-xenon.
Any help or some photos?

Keep the stock bulbs for high beams and 9006 for HID lows

I gave you a link..."Headlight, high Beam -----60W 9005 HB3"

However, with HID high beams in a Depo headlight unit you'll be blinding people, it's a waste of money too IMO...OEM HID units are Bi-Xenon which tilt the HID bulb in the projector housing. If you wanted a Bi-Xenon unit you could get factory HID headlamps and the switch or get it retrofitted both options cost a lot. A good retrofit company is: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/. IMO just do the HID low beams and keep the stock OEM high beam bulbs. In my case I put HID's in the fog lights as well which are low enough and don't blind people to much unless I'm on an incline.

Wow long thread. I read all 26 pages.

Too recap: How to upgrade the Halogen OEM headlights

OPTION 1: Projection HID kit

need
- New DEPO Projection Headlight from Amazon best price 225$
- HID kit 9006 around 50$
-JRox harness for DRL bypass around 50 $

Total around 325$

OPTION 2 : HID Retrofit Projector

need
-Stock Halogen headlight Free$
-Projector bulb...exemple Evo-R model cost ?$
-Remove stock halogen for the Evo-R ( DIY ???)
-HID D2S bulb 80$

Total around $???

OPTION 3 : Buy a full HID Projector headlight 1200$ ??

OPTION 4 : Buy a HID kit 9006 and install on OEM halogen headlights 30$

Can anyone comment on the Option 2 please... I don't get it

thanks

also interested in this.. i have the oem reflector headlights(non sss). How do i go about getting hids, and more specifically Demon eyes with black housing

i was quoted 600 from a reputable shop but i feel thats alot. Would i be able to just buy a set of depo headlights from ebay, and swap them out, and everything works? as far as DRL, do the non sss models have drls?

Any info would be great, Thanks

for your option 2: take stock non SSS headlight apart. install new projector (real projector for HID). aim. reassemble.
see this link for example. the last post of the page looks better than the first example..

the more preferred route is to take your option 1 (buying depo lights), but retrofit those with a set of bi-xenon hella evox-r projectors since those can be swapped out. this method is the 2nd most expensive (first being factory SSS lights). i think there may be a person or two on this site that does that for reasonable money. you would have to search.

I just ordered them off Amazon last night. I realized they are in Buena Park, CA (about 15 miles from my work) so I called them this morning and they let me pick them up. They look the same as the ones on EBay, only cheaper. $225.95.

Nice people as well. Told them they may sell more if they put a better photo up. She said it's Amazon that does the photo.

Still new to headlights. Never knew there was so much to them. But I'm catching on. As far as replacing the projector with the Evo XR, is the benifit just to have high beam there or are there other benifits?

I have a 2012 X GSR with no day time running lights. Is it possable to rewire to have the headlights on whenever the car is running but not the taillights until dark? Also would have to be set so the nav dims when the taillights are on, not headlights.

Thanks.
