MMCS - Black Screen
MMCS - Black Screen
Hey guys, long story short, My car sat for like 4 days with the positive and negative battery cables unplugged from the battery. I plugged them back into the battery which is reading at 12.56 volts (checked with battery tester today) and my MMCS Display isnt working. Its just a black screen, none of the buttons do anything, no sounds coming out of my speakers. The only thing that works on it is the open button. I can hit open and it will slide to let me put a disc in. The eject even works as well.
Sometimes It will flicker, but other then that. it just stays black.
I haven't done anything to try and fix it, where should i start?

ok small update, i had time to finally take the dash apart to check what was going on.
Unplugged all wires, plugged them back in. Nada
Checked fuse number (i think it was 30A for music symbol)
Nothing.
I was screwing everything back in when i noticed that the hard drive was having a hard time booting up.
boots, and then does the boot noise again. every 5 seconds.
so im going to plug it into my computer , backup the drive. and run some diagnostics on it to see whats going on.
Would anything show on the mmcs if there was no hard drive?
anyone know?

HD Problems
I am having HD Problems too, I get this message though.
"It is difficult to read the hard disk-
Wait for a while until the hard disk is restored"
So my guess is your HD is failing. Mine came back on for a couple hours and worked normally but now is back to being messed up.

My problem was that when i did the dvd hack, i upgrade the version of the screen data but the maps remained the same. so when I did a cold boot, it didn't recognize the correct firmware verisons and refused to boot. reinstalling the loading.kwi and alldata.kwi that came with the hdd originally fixed the problem.
evoxforums was a lot more helpful with this issue then people on here.
there's a guy on there that does a reimaging service that might be able to help you out.
his name on evoxforums is:

shoot him a pm on there and he should be able to help you out. he helped me out tremendously and got my system working again.
