I agree, I think Open ECU is the most desireable solution right now, but that tool is still fairly new, especially when compared to tools from Cobb, Ecutek, and some other places. I think the reality is that us Evo guys are cheap as hell, and dont want to pay a large amount of money we dont a whole lot of value in when you can do it for a lot cheaper with Open ECU.

It might be newer but it offers more than EcuTek and Cobb as far as tuning.

More user adjustability, Larger knowledge base, less money...I could go on. I said it before and I'll say it again, Ecutek is a drop in the Evo bucket, They offer far more support to the subie community than the Evo community.

There are at least a dozen Experts on open Ecu on these forums, The same can not be said for Ecutek. They may come up with the first flashing option for the X...Remember, the first to do something does not always end up to be the best.

i loved my ecutek on my subie! got it dyno tuned drove a stage 4 fp18g for 4 years never a problem. i'm sure the evo will be close to the same. but open ecu sounds like a great option as well!
