There are two intake and two exhaust on the EcuFlash setup where #1 is warmup and #2 is normal temp. Hopefully it won't be reversed or something wierd.
This one has:
Exhaust cam timing table A
Exhaust cam timing table B
Intake cam timing table A WOT
Intake cam timing B

Perhaps the A's are the warm-up tables... i'm not sure... maybe you know about this or if someone knows much about ATR they could chime in as well.

ok here is an example of stock vs. stage 2 cam phasing. The top window is the stock map.. the bottom obviously is stage 2. So from 0-120 from 2000-4000 I can just copy these values into the stage 2 map?

good news finally! I flashed the map I altered and went on a little ride to do some errands which includes about a 10-15 mile highway drive.. it's a lot up mild up and down hills and such so load is put on and taken off. I think I got about 22.8 or maybe low 23's. Today was low to mid 25's pretty much the whole time.

Golden has created a map for me to try with some other alterations so i'll be trying that one next.

Since many have talked about the FP red and other bigger turbos getting better mileage, I was considering when I get some money picking one up. My question is... what else would I need? Fuel pump, bigger injectors... etc?

well in my case i got the red way earlier than planned (price i could NOT pass up).
I had a tbe (catless) - UICP & k&n drop in at the time. i installed the red and after a few pulls i soon realized i needed new injectors. I had my stock injectors modified to flow 800cc and got tuned. my goal was a safe dd 400 whp set up (i was at 300 with the stock turbo on that dyno) and i was able to get to it but my idc are well into the 90s meaning i am running out of fuel. I got a walbro fuel pump and i am hoping that will bring my idc back down so i can push the boost higher as i am well out of the sweet spot for the red.

so i found out that bigger injectors and a fuel pump really are needed to get the red to shine or it will be under tuned. even at what i would call under tuned it is incredible when that damn thing spools up.

i did the math a while ago and after ~30k miles my red will have paid for itself with the mpg increase i have got (although i didn't factor in the injectors and fuel pump into it)

this is also assuming that gas doesn't go up anymore as well. Best price here is 2.95 a gallon and less than a month ago it was 2.75.

it was just an anecdotal response when i did the napkin math a while ago but with increasing fuel costs that gap will decrease. with the new found power i do find myself driving much more conservatively since i "know what i can do" if i want it to.

back to the original topic with the stock turbo; i really blame the **** poor milage on the fact that your cruising at ~3k rpms and that is the sweet spot for the stock turbo to hit spool extremely fast.

yeah, I mean i'd love to be able to get over 25, but if I can be at stage 2 and get 25 cruising that would be ok too. At some point I may upgrade the turbo to get the better mileage, would the FPred be the best for what I am looking to do, or is there another turbo that spools even later? Not that 29 mpg is bad by any means, just wondering.

my red is full spool at about 4k, but i am able to highway cruise and creep past slower traffic by letting the engine do the work without the turbo which is what i believe saves so much gas, so you should see this with nearly any after market turbo that is bigger than stock in varying degrees.

lol at upgrading the turbo for MPG.

You'd be better off buying a $1-2k beater that gets 30-35mpg (or 40-45 if you get the right honda/vw) on cheaper gas, tires, etc...

but that wouldn't be cool =P

my beater is a 84 300zx turbo.. i think it gets even worse mileage then the evo but a rwd v6 turbo is fun to beat the **** out of.

I did contribute, it just wasn't what you wanted to hear.

That's how I justified the upgrade to E85
