Re-scalling maps

Hey guys,

I am getting ready to re-scale some of my maps in ECUflash for my 2010 Ralliart, and I got to wondering...

The timing maps are much larger than the fuel maps. It is my understanding that the reason for this is that in the actual XML file, the address for the RPM scale is different.

What would happen if you altered the XML file for the Fuel map RPM address to match the RPM scale address from the timing map?

I'm not gonna be a guinea pig on this, just asking if any crazy person out there has tried something like that to get an expanded fuel map, if it worked, if their ECU burst into flames and Satan laughed in the distance, or Angles sing and they have expanded fuel tuning maps... what happens?

Thanks,

Keith

Another question!

I know that the older ECU's you can run multiple maps with "shift on the fly" capability for different things (valet map, E-85 blah blah blah)... and I know there are lots of unused maps in the EVO X / Ralliart ECU such as the cylinder fuel trims.... isn't there a way we could re-define those maps and use them for "swap on the fly" capability?

Just wondering,

Keith

ok the timing AND fuel maps have different axis's

you cant just change the address in ecuflash because the ECU wont realise.

if you are absolutle dying to rescale send me the ROM and I will make sure no other tables are using the same axis - this is always the biggest problem we rescaling, if another table (that we havn't found yet) uses the same axis you rescaling, its bad

I plan todo tephramods for the X - so stay tuned for that... there is HEAPS of free space so we done need to reuse maps

I already re-scaled today, doing both load AND RPM is a real pain in the @ss! Makes it so you can't just easily cut and past to re-configure things. The high octane fuel map effect the low octane map, and cylinder fuel trim #1, #2, #3, and #4.... if it affects others it hasn't caused me any problems yet.... I sent you a link to my map a few days ago at your gmail accept if you would like to check and see if there is anything else it may interfere with in the background where I can't see / correct it

I can't wait for the tephramods for the X! I was just hoping that some of that free space could be sucked up by larger maps for some of the things we already have... but from what you said above it sounds like that is a no-go

Later,

Keith

PS: At first I thought it effected the Evap maps, but I was incorrect... hence the edit...

Hello Tephra,

I'm on the verge of rescaling the WGDC (High and Low) on my Evo X. Any other tables using those axis's? Know of anyone who's done that yet? I need more granularity in the 2750-3500 range for my EBCS in interrupt mode.

Thanks,
smanders
