Jess, its only been brought up as its an odd install on a stock car.. Im sure Darin is doing some R&D is why but nothing wrong with a little Vs. Discussion.. Your right you cant go wrong with motec however what comes included with car that you dont pay extra for you cant go wrong with either..

Thats a good point. Let him do his thing, and follow his progress. Im looking foward to how this turns out. Even its at its fastest, if it turns out to be a 10 second car, i would be more than happy to see the progress happen since it started as a stock Evo.

Dont let some of these question your choices and motives. Yeah, opinions are good to some extent but hey, build your car.. not let others build it for you.

Are you in the makings of the turbo kit as we speak? Cant wait to hopefully get to see it at the track in the future.

I'm interested to see where it goes. Did you happen to do a before / after VDR?

They are going to start working on the kit very soon. The next couple weeks he is being flown in and out to tune some out of state cars ( and out of the country if he gets his damn passport!) and then him and the fabricator can start developing it.

I dont think people are jumping his *** for it... they are just asking questions because they perhaps cant wrap their head around it and want to get his perspective. Havent seen a single person say the MOTEC isnt a great ECU, just people wondering why swap when they believe the stock can handle it. I mean with the cost of the MOTEC, its kind of a standard question unless you have unlimited funds like the very very very small percentage of the community.

Darin... Looking forward to reading more on the outcome!

thanks but its a BIG team of people doing this stuff, im just fairly vocal, particularly with the X's
So you have a bunch of Indians/Asians doing all the work in a sweatshop, while you chill out in Aus????

I think people dont understand alot of the speed density benefits. I am currently on a Fcon stand alone and love it. As of recent changes in my life Im never going past an FP red and have no real reason for it anymore so im selling mine. A stand alone is a great option if you want to control everything on the car.

I enjoyed reading its always nice to have knowledgable people discuss hard topics. Thanks for the knowledge!

Are you guys with Titan Motorsports by chance?

We used to be with Titan but he currently isn't working full time with them anymore as we've started our own shop. He does still do contracting work for them, and finishing up a few projects there and will still do the tuning for them.

I used to buy alot of stuff from you guys back in the day for my subie.

GL with the new shop...and congrats on being a household name in any supra owners house

The X still has alot of growth potential...Im excited to see what you can do!

Also to all the haters out there....ask AMS how much maf mods and extra time they took to do get the stock ECU to that power level.

Ams is great but it takes a ton of time to do all that customization

Darin the ecu plugs are available. I'm doing a harness presently with a set.

Hi, Darin & Jessica

Another friend of mine told me about this thread, as I do not often come to the X Forums.

Good stuff. I am glad you got an Evo and a Shop.

I will follow your progress. Good luck on the project.

I am sure it will turn out to be a success.

Welcome & talk to everyone later, Manie P.

yeh evo's are awesome cars, turning them into a sub-10 second drag car is a bit of a crime IMHO

but still an achievement in its own right...
